Hello guys. My name is Fanny.

and in this video I'm gonna tell you about the most common English mistake in the universe.

وسأخبركم في هذا الفيديو عن أكثر الأخطاء الإنجليزية شيوعًا في الكون.

Now even native speakers make that mistake.

الآن حتى المتحدثين الأصليين يرتكبون هذا الخطأ.

My mother makes that mistake.

أمي ترتكب هذا الخطأ.

And to be honest, sometimes I do.

ولكي أكون صادقًا ، فأنا أفعل ذلك أحيانًا.

Its not so much a speaking mistake. It's a writing mistake.

ليس خطأ التحدث. إنه خطأ في الكتابة.

It's actually to write the possessive adjective 'your' instead of

إنها في الواقع كتابة صفة التملك "الخاص بك" بدلاً من

the contraction 'you're' from 'you are'.

الانكماش "أنت" من "أنت".

This is the most common English mistake

هذا هو الخطأ الأكثر شيوعًا في اللغة الإنجليزية

But you need to fix it if you want to speak proper English.

ولكن عليك إصلاحه إذا كنت تريد التحدث باللغة الإنجليزية بشكل صحيح.

Okay, so let's take a look at a few example sentences together.

حسنًا ، لنلقِ نظرة على بعض أمثلة الجمل معًا.

"Your daughter is pretty."

"ابنتك جميلة".

So 'your daughter'.

لذا "ابنتك".

This is the possessive adjective of 'you'.

هذه هي صفة التملك "أنت".

Whose daughter?

بنت من؟

Yours.

خاصة بك.

Okay?

تمام؟

So the daughter belongs to you.

لذا فإن الابنة ملك لك.

That's a possessive adjective.

هذه صفة ملكية.

So the sentence is correct.

إذن الجملة صحيحة.

In the second sentence,

في الجملة الثانية ،

"You're a pretty daughter."

"أنت ابنة جميلة."

See the difference?

ترى الفرق؟

Now this is not a possessive adjective.

الآن هذه ليست صفة تملُّك.

This is the verb 'to be'.

هذا هو فعل "to be".

But it's the contraction, so it's "You are a pretty daughter."

لكنه الانكماش ، لذلك "أنت ابنة جميلة."

and the contraction is "You're a pretty daughter."

والانكماش هو "أنت ابنة جميلة".

The problem here is that 'you're' - possessive adjectives and

المشكلة هنا هي أن "أنت" - صفات ملكية و "

'you're' - contraction of the verb 'to be'

أنت" - تقلص الفعل "to be"

have the exact same sound in many English-speaking regions.

له نفس الصوت تمامًا في العديد من المناطق الناطقة باللغة الإنجليزية.

Okay it's very similar.

حسنًا ، إنه مشابه جدًا.

So when we speak, it's the same.

People don't hear the difference.

So the very important thing is to write it properly.

And there are so many spelling mistakes.

If we look at the third sentence:

"Your a nice person."

Is the sentence right or wrong?

Well it's wrong.

"Your a nice person."

"You are a nice person."

"انت شخص لطيف."

So it's the verb 'to be'.

لذا فهو فعل "أن يكون".

Okay, so it's not 'your'.

حسنًا ، إذن فهي ليست "لك".

This is the possessive adjective

هذه هي الصفة الملكية

and it should be "you're"- you apostrophe 're'.

I hope you understand the difference between the
