I don't want to talk about that right  now I have to go out with my friends

hey wait a minute sit down please I  need to tell you an important story

I don't have time for that right  now maybe some other time that

okay don't sit down but I'm gonna  tell you this real life story anyway

like you I was once a teenager I liked to hang out  with my friends go to Paris play soccer they had a  

beautiful girl and those things I remember it very  clearly I was 15 years old I was in high school

I love trying new things I remember I was  interested in taking dance classes those typical  

dances we usually see on TV I love that and there  was a musical group it was an artistic group

anyway I joined that group I didn't have to  pay any money because it was totally free  

so I didn't need to ask my mother for money  

oh I told you last time that I only lived  with my mother because my parents got divorced

as I was telling you we didn't have to pay  anything to be part of that amazing artistic group  

so I just asked them to join  them and they told me of course  

I was so happy I mean I loved that dancing

I used to go to dance rehearsals  to or sometimes three times a week  

it was near my home so I didn't have to  take the bus taxi or train to get there  

the only problem was that  rehearsals started a little late

I had to be there at eight in the evening  and it ended at 11 PM and when we had a  

presentation we had to stay there a little more  so sometimes we finished rehearsals at midnight

so I stayed there until very late  sometimes of course my mom didn't like that  

and I understand it now it was very late for  me to be outside and it could be too dangerous

you know we didn't live in a very safe City and  at that time I mean at midnight things could  

become very dangerous but I didn't care I was a  teenager and I just wanted to do what I wanted

my mom used to get angry every time I arrived  home late and it's understandable I used to  

arrive at 1 or 2 am and I was only 15 years old  she knew it was not correct but I didn't care

I had the idea that I could do  whatever I wanted with my own life  

I didn't like people telling me  what to do all the time I hated that  

so when my mom could yell at me for  being late I would get mad at her

we used to fight because of that the worst  thing was that as I made a lot of friends  

at that artistic group they used to  invite me to go to different parties  

you know they celebrated their birthdays

or sometimes we just decided  to stay there talking for hours  

I really loved to do that but of course doing  those things made me arrive home even later  

and the fight with my mom was  even stronger for that reason

the days passed and we kept fighting more and  more due to my bad behavior I hated that my  

mom was yelling at me all the time or telling  me what to do and what not to do I hated it

so things were getting worse and  worse the relationship with my  

mother was increasingly toxic one day  I had finished my musical rehearsal  

and they invited me to a party  it was my best friend's party

obviously I had to go to that party and I couldn't  tell my mom that I was going to the party because  

we didn't have a smartphone back then so I just  accepted the invitation and went to that party

the party finished at three or four in the morning  I don't remember well but it was very late I went  

home and my mother was waiting for me she  hadn't slept the whole night because of me

she was waiting for me to arrive home she was so  worried but so angry at the same time she yelled  

at me she said why do you always do this kind  of things don't you worry about your mom or what

I was tired of that we had a terrible fight  that night it was too hard so after that  

we stopped talking it to each other for a few  days I was mad at her she was mad at me anyway

the days passed and soon my birthday could arrive  I was still mad at her so that morning I mean the  

morning of my birthday she came to me and  asked me what do you want to eat today son

I would prepare whatever you want  because it's your birthday she said  

Patrick I will never forget that moment I still  remember how I answered her and the words I used

she seemed to be happy because of my birthday  I was still mad at her still she asked me  

what do you want to eat today son it's your  birthday and I will cook whatever you want  

with a smile on her face

I looked at her angrily and told her you  know what I want I want you to leave me alone  

don't tell me what to do and leave me alone  that's what I want for my birthday okay

she just looked at me with some tears in her  eyes and said I didn't know I was bothering  

you so much forgive me I said yeah you bother  me so much so leave me alone that's what I want

then she told me okay don't worry I will never  bother you again I promise then I left home and  

I went to the school because I had some classes  as I was leaving I saw her cry and I didn't care

but all the way to school I was thinking about  what I had done I knew I had done something  

terrible I knew I had heart my mom all I saw  was my mother's face with tears in her eyes

I felt terrible I wanted to say sorry to her  I wanted to apologize so I finished my classes  

and I decided to go home quickly to apologize to  my mom for what I had said to her that morning

when I arrived home my mom was  not there anymore I didn't know  

where she had left but I felt terrible I  wanted to say I was sorry but I couldn't  

she arrived very late that day  I never knew where she had gone

when she arrived I couldn't tell  her anything I feel terrible I felt  

ashamed to ask her for forgiveness or to  Simply look at her in the eyes directly  

so I didn't say anything  I always remember that day

I behaved terrible and made my mother cry  and until now I can't forgive myself for that  

she's not here anymore and I  could never ask her to forgive me

yes Dad I get it now I won't  yell at my mom anymore I'm sorry

that's my son don't do something you  might regret for the rest of your life
