soon good morning Mr bennett well  I came here because I think I need

help well can I ask you  something i feel very tired

i study English for three or four hours  every day but I still don't improve

much i don't know i'm stuck  i don't know what I'm doing

wrong of course you can ask me  and let me tell you something

important you are not the only one many  students come to me and say the same

thing i study for hours but I don't improve  and sometimes it doesn't work that way

i mean more time doesn't always mean better

results really but everybody says  practice more study more don't stop  

so I thought I just needed  to study longer now I don't

know yes that's what most people  believe but let me tell you

something from my experience as a teacher  i've been teaching English for over 17

years and I've seen something  very interesting the students who

study just 30 minutes a day with  focus and energy learn faster

than students who study for 3 hours  with no real attention that's the

truth wow but why is that i  mean more time should help

right why is that because your brain  learns better with short active

learning not long passive study  think about it like going to the

gym if you lift weights for five hours  with no good technique you'll get tired or

hard but if you do 30 minutes  with the right plan you grow

stronger oh so it's not  about time it's about quality

exactly Alex that's the key you need  to focus on quality time not just

quantity um let me give you some simple  but powerful tips my best students use

tip number one study for short sessions 25 to 30

minutes your brain gets tired after 30 or 40

minutes after that it stops learning  well so don't study for hours in a blog

study for 25 minutes then take  a short break that is a famous

technique it's called the Pomodoro  technique many language experts recommend

it only 25 minutes wow i I like it that sounds

easy it is but those 25 minutes  must be powerful no phone no

noise 100% attention you listen repeat  write speak use your brain fully

tip number two use real English not just

textbooks another thing many students  study from textbooks only and that's

okay but not enough you need to  use real English watch short videos  

listen to to podcasts read easy  stories follow Instagram pages in

English i see you mean like  use YouTube videos or Netflix

yes but choose easy content don't watch difficult

shows watch content you understand 70  to 80% if it's too hard your brain gets

tired tip number three speak  out loud every day even alone

speaking is super important don't  wait for someone to talk with

you speak to yourself describe  your day your plans what you see

now I remember I had a student  from Peru who improved her

speaking she did it only by  talking to herself every day for 15

minutes yeah I heard you saying that  before i always feel silly doing that

that's normal but it works remember your mouth  

needs to to practice English too not  just your eyes or ears don't forget

that tip number four review what  you learn don't always learn new

things another mistake students make  every day they want to learn something

new but they forget to review  your brain forgets 50% after one

day and 80% after a week if you don't  review you understand now the importance of

it oh maybe that's my problem i  always go to the next topic fast

yes you must go back and review words grammar or

phrases repeat repeat and repeat review  is what makes it the stay in your

brain tip number five make  English part of your daily life

learning English is like brushing your  teeth it's a small thing you do every

day don't just study English  live with it change your phone to

English listen to music in English  talk to your dog in English if you have

one that's funny but I understand it's  like living in English not just studying

it yes Alex that's how people  improve fast even if it's just

20 or 30 minutes a day if you're  consistent and active your brain grows

stronger wow I feel so much better  i thought I was lazy or not as

smart but maybe I was just doing  it the wrong way now I understand

that you're not lazy you're not  stupid you just need a better method

remember don't study for hours and feel  tired study smart focused energy real

suffer to learn it instead do this  you just need to enjoy it use it
