Today we're going to be talking about question tags.

今天我们就来讲一下反义疑问句

If you learn how to appropriately

understand and use question tags,

和使用反义疑问句

You're going to...you're going to

a) sound more like a native speaker when you speak,

and b) be able to understand native speaker when they speak to you.

So what are question tags?

什么是反义疑问句呢

你知道答案，不是吗？

Oh, that was one there.

哦上面就刚好是一个反义疑问句呢

So a question tag is a very short question

所以，反义疑问句就是一个放在陈述句后面的

placed at the end of a statement.

非常短的问题

They are used when asking for two things.

通常在两种情况下回用到它

And these two things are

这两种情况就是

1) confirmation

第一，用于确认；第二，用于认同

and 2) agreement.

So in order to better understand native speakers,

所以，为了更好地理解母语者说的话

you need to listen to their intonation

当他们用到反义疑问句时

when they use question tags.

我们需要注意听他们的语调

So let's cover this first

那么我们先来讲解这个

and then move on to how they're formed.

然后我们再来看看它的句式结构吧

So let's do this one.

现在开始第一个

你喜欢蛋糕，是吗？（降调）

你喜欢蛋糕，不是吗？（升调）

所以当我说你喜欢蛋糕，不是吗？（降调）时

It means, I know you like cake,

我是知道你喜欢蛋糕的

I'm just trying to confirm the fact that you like cake.

我只是在证实你喜欢蛋糕这个事实

当我说你喜欢蛋糕，不是吗？（升调）时

I'm not sure if you like cake.

我并不确定你是否喜欢蛋糕

I'm not sure about what the answer will be,

我不确定你的答案是什么

so I'm checking the fact again.

我在确认事实

所以，当我用升调时，我想知道答案

I want to know the answer I'm not sure.

因为我不确定

如果用的是降调，我只是在找话题而已

I'm making conversation,

I'm confirming something that I've already known.

确认一下我已经知道的事实

通常来说，肯定陈述句后面

会接一个否定的反义疑问句

你喜欢蛋糕，不是吗？

然后在否定陈述句后面

会接一个肯定的反义疑问句

你不喜欢蛋糕，是吗

See the difference?

看出区别了吗

So it's somthing that's really really simple,

你可以看出这真的很简单

but I still have a lot of students that get really really confused with question tags.

但我依旧有不少学生

对这个感到非常疑惑

So let's clarify this now.

现在我们就把它说清楚一点

就从肯定陈述句，否定反义疑问句

开始吧

你很快乐，不是吗

are和aren't是一起的

他在家了，不是吗

这很好，不是吗

他们累了，不是吗

你说话很舒服，不是吗

他说话很糟糕，不是吗

你吃了很多，不是吗

我学习很努力，不是吗

你已经到了，不是吗

我们会到那里的，不是吗

你可以做到的，不是吗

我们可以探望他们，不是吗

我们得走了，不是吗

我们应该做决定了，不是吗

Now, so those are the negative ones.

好了，这些就是否定反义疑问句

There are just a couple of exceptions.

举几个例外的例子吧

The first exception is with "am".

第一个是am

我是金发的，不是吗（用aren‘t’）

而不是说我是金发的，不是吗（用am I not）

which you can say,

当然你也可以这么说，但这是非常正式的说法

but it sounds very very formal.

通常我们应该用aren't

另一个例外就是let's

我们走吧，好吗

我们走吧，好吗

这里let's和shall是放一起的

接下来说说否定陈述句加肯定反义疑问句

同样也有几组例外的词

第一个是am

我不去了，是吗（用am）

这里我们就不用aren't了

然后，举几个

我们之前用过的例子吧

你没吃饭，是吗

他不是很友好，是吗

Now statements using

但是，用到no, neither, nobody

none, nothing, seldom, barely, and hardly这些否定词的陈述句

are all treated as negative statements.

都会被看作否定陈述句

所以，我会说“没有人来，是吗”

So at first glance,

第一眼看上去可能会像是肯定陈述句

it might look like a positive statement,

and a positive question tag.

加一个肯定的反义疑问句

But you need to make sure

但你需要再次确认一下

that you see the negative word before it.

是否有否定词在里边
