If you're not already familiar,

a phrasal verb consists of a verb and a particle,

Some are more basic, some are more common, should I say?

The first phrasal verb is to ask out.

It's separable, so to ask somebody out,

and this is to invite someone on a date.

For example, he asked me out at a party

and we've been inseparable ever since.

So the next one is to take somebody out.

So these first two are quite similar.

I recently went for dinner with a foreign friend

So first, let's talk about eating.

Number one is to pig out, to pig out.

Number five is very similar, to cut back,

This means to prepare a meal very quickly
