Learn the English Phrases "to put your foot down" and "to put up a fight"

In this English lesson I wanted to help you learn the English phrase to put your foot down.

בשיעור האנגלית הזה רציתי לעזור לך ללמוד את הביטוי באנגלית להוריד את הרגל.

When you put your foot down, it means you're not going to agree with someone.

כשאתה מוריד את הרגל, זה אומר שאתה לא הולך להסכים עם מישהו.

Let's say that my kids said that they wanted to have ice cream and I said no.

And then they asked again. And then I said no.

Eventually I would just put my foot down and say, Stop asking.

The answer will always be no.

So when you put your foot down, it means you're in charge of something or you're

The second phrase I wanted to teach you today is the phrase to put up a fight.

So to review, when you put your foot down, it means you're saying no to something.

I guess it doesn't have to be “no”, it could be, yes.
