Meaning of TO HAVE A KICK TO IT and JUST FOR KICKS - A Short English Lesson with Subtitles

So the other day I made some chili.

Chili is kind of a mixture of meat, and beans, and tomatoes,

and peppers and I put in some hot sauce,

and I might have put in a little too much hot sauce,
