The real tale of the Monkey King in Heaven - Ji Hao

After snatching the sea dragon’s mystical weapon,

ပင်လယ်နဂါးရဲ့ လျှို့ဝှက်ဆန်းကြယ် လက်နက်ကို လုယူ၊

outsmarting the lords of death and securing immortality for his followers,

သေမင်းတွေကို လူလည်ကျ၊ သူ့နောက်လိုက်တွေ အတွက် အမတ ရှင်သန်မှုကို ရယူပြီးနောက်မှာ

Sun Wukong had truly earned his title as the Monkey King.

စွန်း ဝူခုန်းဟာ မျောက်မင်းဆိုတဲ့ ဘွဲ့ကို တကယ် ရရှိခဲ့တယ်။

But while his disciples loved their roguish leader,

ဒါပေမဲ့၊ ရိသဲ့သဲ့လုပ်တဲ့ ခေါင်းဆောင်ကို တပည့်တွေက ချစ်ပေမဲ့၊

his misadventures had spread chaos throughout the land.

စွန်း ဝူခုန်းရဲ့ ကံဆိုးမှုတွေက တစ်ပြည်လုံး မှာ အုန်းအုန်းကျွက်ကျွက်ဖြစ်သွားတယ်။

The Jade Emperor, watching from his throne in Heaven,

ကောင်းကင်က သူ့ပလ္လင်ကနေ ကြည့်နေတဲ့၊ ကျောက်စိမ်း  ဧကရာဇ်က

decided he would no longer stand by

ဒီမျောက်ဟာ သူ့နယ်မြေအနှံ့

as this monkey wreaked havoc across his domain.

ကသောင်းကနင်းဖြစ်စေခဲ့တော့၊ လက်ပိုက် ကြည့်မနေတော့ဘူးလို့ ဆုံးဖြတ်လိုက်တယ်။

After consulting with his aide,

သူ့ရဲ့လက်ထောက်နဲ့ တိုင်ပင်ပြီးနောက်မှာ၊

the Emperor decided the best way to maintain order

ငြိမ်ဝပ်ပိပြားဖို့ အကောင်းဆုံး နည်းလမ်းက စွန်း ဝူခုန်းကို  

was to keep a close eye on Sun Wukong.

အနီးကပ်စောင့်ကြည့်ဖို့လို့ ဧကရာဇ်က ဆုံးဖြတ်ခဲ့တယ်။

So, he invited the Monkey King to serve as supervisor of the imperial stables.

ဒါကြောင့် သူက ဘုရင့်မြင်းဇောင်းတွေကို ကြီးကြပ်ဖို့ မျောက်မင်းကို ဖိတ်ခေါ်တယ်။

Sun Wukong jumped at what he thought was a prestigious job in Heaven.

စွန်းဝူခုန်းက ကောင်းကင်မှာ ဂုဏ်ရှိတဲ့ အလုပ်လို့ သူထင်တာကို လက်ခံလိုက်တယ်။

He began working diligently to care for Heaven’s horses,

သူဟာ  ကောင်းကင်ဘုံက မြင်းတွေကို ဝိရိယရှိရှိ စောင့်ရှောက်နေတော့

and for a time, the Emperor’s plan appeared to be working.

ဧကရာဇ်ရဲ့ အကြံအစည်က အချိန် အတိုင်းအတာတစ်ခုအထိ အလုပ်ဖြစ်ပုံရတယ်။

But eventually, Sun Wukong realized his job was the lowest rank imaginable.

ဒါပေမဲ့၊ နောက်ဆုံး စွန်း ဝူခုန်းဟာ အလုပ်က စိတ်ကူးသမျှ အနိမ့်ဆုံးရာထူးဆိုတာ သိခဲ့တယ်။

Deeply offended, he whipped out his shapeshifting staff

အကြီးအကျယ် မကျေမနပ်ဖြစ်ပြီး သူ့ရဲ့ အသွင်ပြောင်း တောင်ဝှေး ကို ဝှေ့ကာ

and transformed it into an iron cudgel.

တင်းပုတ်အဖြစ် ပြောင်းလဲလိုက်တယ်။

Blasting his way back to Earth,

ကမ္ဘာမြေဆီ ပြန်တဲ့ လမ်းမှာ ဝုန်းဒိုင်းကြဲရင်း

he erected a great banner proclaiming the job title he felt entitled to.

သူ ရထိုက်တဲ့  အလုပ် ရာထူးကို ကြေညာတဲ့ နဖူးစည်းကြီးတစ်ခုကို စိုက်ထူလိုက်တယ်။

Furious, the Emperor dispatched his heavenly troops

ဒေါသတကြီးနဲ့ ဧကရာဇ်က မျောက်မင်းကို ပြန်ထိန်းချုပ်နိုင်စေဖို့

to bring the Monkey King back under control.

သူ့ရဲ့ ကောင်းကင် တပ်သားတွေကို စေလွှတ်လိုက်တယ်။

But even his army’s shapeshifting general was no match for Sun Wukong.

ဒါပေမဲ့ သူ့တပ်ရဲ့ အသွင်ပြောင်း စစ်သူကြီး တောင် စွန်း ဝူခုန်းကို မယှဉ်နိုင်ဘူး။

Using his guile, the Monkey King bested his opponents,

ပရိယာယ်ကို အသုံးပြုရင်း မျောက်မင်းက ပြိုင်ဘက်တွေကို အနိုင်ယူခဲ့ပြီး

and the Jade Emperor was forced to offer him the post he desired.

ကျောက်စိမ်း ဧကရာဇ်ကို သူ လိုချင်တဲ့ ရာထူးကို ပေးဖို့ ဖိအားပေးခဲ့တယ်။  

He reinstated Sun Wukong in Heaven, this time in an opulent mansion.

ဒီတစ်ကြိမ်မှာ စွန်း ဝူခုန်းကို ကောင်းကင်က ခမ်းနားတဲ့ စံအိမ်မှာ ပြန်လည်နေရာချပေးတယ်။

From his new home, the Monkey King threw himself into a life of leisure—

သူ့ရဲ့အိမ်သစ်ကနေ၊ မျောက်မင်းဟာ နတ်ဘုံတွေကို စူးစမ်းရင်း

exploring the realms and socializing with various deities.

နတ်သမီးအမျိုးမျိုးနဲ့အတူ ပေါင်းသင်းဆက်ဆံရင်း ပျော်ပါးနေခဲ့တယ်။

But the Jade Emperor was still concerned about his guest’s chaotic nature.

ဒါပေမဲ့ ကျောက်စိမ်း ဧကရာဇ်က သူ့ဧည့်သည်ရဲ့ ဖရိုဖရဲ သဘာဝကို စိုးရိမ်နေဆဲပါ။

To keep him busy, he asked Sun Wukong to protect

သူ့ အလုပ်များနေစေဖို့ ဧကရာဇ်က စွန်း ဝူခုန်းကို မြင့်မြတ်တဲ့

the sacred Garden of Immortal Peaches.

အမတ မက်မွန် ဥယျာဉ်ကို ကာကွယ်ခိုင်းခဲ့တယ်။

At this task, the Monkey King failed spectacularly.

ဒီတာဝန်မှာ မျောက်မင်းဟာ အံ့မခန်း ကျရှုံးခဲ့တယ်။

But gorging on fruit did keep him occupied...

ဒါပေမဲ့၊ သစ်သီးကို တဝတပြဲ စားလိုက်တာက သူ့ကို အလုပ်များစေခဲ့တာက...

until he spotted fairies collecting the peaches for a Grand Festival.

ပွဲတော်ကြီးအတွက် မက်မွန်သီးတွေ ကောက်နေတဲ့ နတ်သမီးတွေကို မတွေ့ခင်အထိပါ။

Despite his official role, Sun Wukong hadn’t been invited to the celebration,

သူ့ရဲ့ တရားဝင် ကဏ္ဍပေမဲ့၊ စွန်း ဝူခုန်းဟာ အခမ်းအနားကို ဖိတ်ကြားမခံရတော့

and he quickly hatched a plan to get his revenge.

လက်စားချေဖို့ အစီအစဉ်ကို အမြန် လျှို့ဝှက်ကြံစည်ခဲ့တယ်။

Transforming a few of his hairs into sleep-inducing insects,

သူ့ရဲ့ ဆံပင်အနည်းငယ်ကို အိပ်စက်စေတဲ့ ပိုးမွှားတွေအဖြစ် ပြောင်းလဲရင်း၊

the Monkey King incapacitated the Emperor’s servants

မျောက်မင်းက ဧကရာဇ်ရဲ့ အစေခံတွေကို ချိနဲ့သွားအောင်လုပ်ပြီး

and consumed the entire feast himself.

စားပွဲတစ်ခုလုံးကို သူတစ်ယောက်တည်း  စားသုံးခဲ့တယ်။

Bloated with food and wine, Sun Wukong stumbled towards his mansion.

အစာတွေ၊ဝိုင်တွေနဲ့ ဖူးရောင်နေတဲ့ဝူခုန်းဟာ အိမ်ကို ဒယိမ်းဒယိုင် လျှောက်သွားခဲ့တယ်။

But in his drunken stupor, he ended up at the palace of the Daoist leader Laozi.

ဒါပေမဲ့ မူးနေတော့ သူဟာ တာအိုဝါဒခေါင်းဆောင် လောက်ဇီရဲ့ နန်းတော်ကို ရောက်သွားတယ်။

Sun Wukong giddily explored Laozi’s deserted home,

စွန်း ဝူခုန်းဟာ လောက်ဇီ စွန့်ခွါသွားတဲ့ နေအိမ်ကို မူးနောက်နောက်နဲ့ စူးစမ်းတော့၊

and in the alchemical room, he found a particularly tempting treasure:

အဂ္ဂိရတ် အခန်းထဲမှာ အထူး ဆွဲဆောင်နေတဲ့ ရတနာဖြစ်တဲ့ ဘူးသီးငါးလုံးနဲ့ ပြည့်နေတဲ့

five gourds filled with golden elixir.

ရွှေသက်စောင့်ဆေးကို တွေ့ရှိခဲ့တယ်။

Sensing the medicine was sacred, he vowed only to sneak a taste—

ဆေးက အလေးအမြတ်ဖြစ်တယ်လို့ခံစားရတာကြောင့်   ခိုးမြည်းကြည့်ဖို့ အဓိဋ္ဌာန်ပြုခဲ့ပေမဲ့၊

but soon he was surrounded by empty vessels.

မကြာခင်ပဲ သူ့နားမှာ အိုးလွတ်တွေပဲ ဝန်းရံနေတယ်။

The elixir instantly sobered him up,

သက်စောင့်ဆေးက ချက်ချင်း သူ့ကို အမူးပြေစေပြီး

and suddenly Sun Wukong knew he’d gone too far.

ရုတ်တရက် စွန်း ဝူခုန်းဟာ လက်လွန်သွားပြီဆိုတာ သိလိုက်တယ်။

To avoid Laozi’s legendary wrath, he caught the nearest cloud back to Earth.

လောက်ဇီရဲ့ ဒေါသကို ရှောင်ရှားဖို့၊ သူဟာ အနီးဆုံးတိမ်ကို ကမ္ဘာမြေဆီ ဖမ်းယူခဲ့တယ်။

But it didn’t take long for the Emperor to uncover his trail of chaos.

ဒါပေမဲ့ ဧကရာဇ်က သူ့ရဲ့ပရမ်းပတာ လမ်းကြောင်း ကို ဖော်ထုတ်ထို့ အချိန်မကြာခဲ့ဘူး။

Vowing to subdue Sun Wukong once and for all,

စွန်း ဝူခုန်းကို ချက်ချင်း နှိမ်နင်းဖို့ သန္နိဌာန်ချကာ

he called on his nephew Erlang Shen.

သူ့တူဖြစ်တဲ့ အားလန် ရှန်းကို ဆင့်ခေါ်လိုက်တယ်။

Erlang Shen was known throughout the realms for his heroic feats

အားလန် ရှန်းက သူ့ရဲ့ သူရဲကောင်းဆန်တဲ့ စွမ်းဆောင်မှုတွေနဲ့ လှည့်စားမှုမှန်သမျှကို

and ability to see through any illusion.

မြင်နိုင်တာကြောင့်၊ ဒီနယ်ပယ်တွေတစ်ဝိုက်မှာ လူသိများတယ်။

He and Sun Wukong began a great battle,

သူနဲ့ စွန်း ဝူခုန်းဟာ တစ်ဦးကို တစ်ဦး အနိုင်ရဖို့ ကြိုးစားရင်း

transforming into all manner of beasts in their attempts to best one another.

သတ္တဝါ မျိုးစုံအဖြစ် ပြောင်းလဲရင်း တိုက်ပွဲကြီးတစ်ခုကို စတင်ခဲ့တယ်။

The fight was fearsome, but Sun Wukong’s quick wits kept him one step ahead—

တိုက်ပွဲက ကြောက်စရာကောင်းပေမဲ့၊ စွန်း ဝူခုန်းရဲ့ လျင်မြန်တဲ့ ဇဝနဉာဏ်က၊

until Laozi’s bracelet struck him from the heavens.

လာဇီရဲ့ လက်ကြပ်က သူ့ကို ကောင်းကင်ကနေ မတိုက်မိခင်အထိ၊ အသာစီးရစေခဲ့တယ်။

This stumble was all Erlang Shen needed to capture the Monkey King

ဒီတိုက်မိတာက အားလန် ရှန်းက မျောက်မင်းကို ဖမ်းပြီး

and deliver him to Laozi.

လောက်ဇီဆီ ပို့ဖို့ လိုအပ်တဲ့ အရာပါ။

The religious leader imprisoned Sun Wukong in a white-hot brazier,

ဘာသာရေးခေါင်းဆောင်က စွန်း ဝူခုန်းကို သံဒယ်ပိုင်းပူပူထဲမှာ

cooking him for 49 days.

၄၉ ရက်ကြာ တည်ရင်း ထောင်ချခဲ့တယ်။

But when Laozi opened the lid, a pair of burning eyes stared back at him.

ဒါပေမဲ့၊ လောက်ဇီက အဖုံး ဖွင့်တော့၊ ပြင်းပြ တဲ့မျက်လုံးတွေက သူ့ကိုပြန်စိုက်ကြည့်နေတယ်။

The golden elixir had made Sun Wukong’s body indestructible,

ရွှေသက်စောင့်ဆေးက စွန်း ဝူခုန်းရဲ့ ခန္ဓာကိုယ်ကို ဖျက်ဆီးမရအောင်ဖြစ်စေပြီး

and he rose from the pot stronger than ever.

သူဟာ အိုးထဲကနေ ပိုသန်မာပြီး ထွက်လာခဲ့တယ်။

At this terrifying triumph, the Jade Emperor despaired.

ဒီကြောက်မက်ဖွယ် အောင်ပွဲမှာ ကျောက်စိမ်း ဧကရာဇ်ဟာ စိတ်ပျက်လက်ပျက်ဖြစ်ခဲ့တယ်။

He’d tried tricking, appeasing, and battling Sun Wukong—

သူဟာ စွန်း ဝူခုန်းကို လှည့်ဖြား၊ ချော့မော့ တိုက်ခိုက်ဖို့ ကြိုးစားခဲ့ပေမဲ့၊

but it had only led to more chaos.

ပိုပြီး ကမောက်ကမဖြစ်လာရုံသာပါ။

It seemed that only the greatest power in the world could defeat the Monkey King—

ကမ္ဘာပေါ်မှာ တန်ခိုးအကြီးဆုံးကသာ မျောက်မင်းကို အနိုင်ယူလိုက်နိုင်ပုံရတယ်၊

it was time for Buddha himself to intervene.

ဒါက ဗုဒ္ဓကိုယ်တော်တိုင် ဝင်ရောက်စွက်ဖက်ဖို့ အချိန်တန်ပါပြီ။
