In this video, we are going to focus on two consonant sounds

the /l/ sound and the /r/sound.

They can sound similar but they are different.

And it's very important for you to hear the difference

and to be able to pronounce them differently.

So we will start with two example words.

The first example word that I have is ‘light’.

Now can you hear the /l/ sound?

The second word is quite different.

It's ‘right’.

Can you hear the different sound?

It's an /r/ sound.

So it's a voiced sound.

So again you're going to use your voice.

You're going to feel this vibration in your throats and your tongue is going to be forward.
