English VERBS of the SENSES! + As if / Like / As though

Look, feel, smell, taste, and sound.

When you want to say

Use whichever one you want.

The only real difference

is these two sound a bit more formal.

But don't worry.

You can use all three and it's fine.

Or you could act like a detective

and say what you think a situation is.

It's like you're guessing.

You can use that verb "seem."

For example, if your teacher asks you

and you haven't done it, but you still say yes,

Remember, we're describing how something is,

The full sentence, what can we use?

Well, we can use that "like" again

Do you remember what they were?

And remember, when you make a guess about a situation,

A common mistake that I have to correct is this one.

if you just use an adjective, don't use "like."

If it's a noun, use "like."
