Every day all around the world, people are saying things to each other in their own language.

ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਲੋਕ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

General conversations are taking place.

ਆਮ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।

These conversations can take on many forms, from general chit chat and small talk,

It is easy to give out advice.

ਸਲਾਹ ਦੇਣਾ ਆਸਾਨ ਹੈ।

However, sometimes the advice given might be hard to follow or carry out.

ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਕਰਨਾ ਜਾਂ ਲਾਗੂ ਕਰਨਾ ਔਖਾ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

The person receiving the advice might feel belittled or patronised in some way.

That person might reply by saying,

“it's easy for you to say that,  but it's not as simple as that”.

"ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਆਸਾਨ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਇੰਨਾ ਸੌਖਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ"।

For example, you might give advice to someone about setting up a business.

ਉਦਾਹਰਨ ਲਈ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਰੋਬਾਰ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ।

This advice is given sincerely.

However, in reality, that  advice is not easy to carry out.

Sometimes the advice given  is nothing new or original.

ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸਲਾਹ ਕੋਈ ਨਵੀਂ ਜਾਂ ਅਸਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ।

An obvious suggestion or advice given that in reality would never work,

ਇੱਕ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਸੁਝਾਅ ਜਾਂ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੇਗੀ,

can leave the person seeking advice, feeling empty and humiliated.

Of course, offering help and support

through the action of giving  advice is a noble thing to do.
