Present Perfect: Active & Passive | Participle Adjectives | Advanced English Grammar

The fact that the Past Participle is used in Perfect tenses, the Passive Voice,

این واقعیت که Past Participle در زمان‌های Perfect، Passive Voice

and also sometimes as an adjective can be very confusing.

و همچنین گاهی اوقات به عنوان صفت استفاده می‌شود، می‌تواند بسیار گیج‌کننده باشد.

So, in this lesson we're going to review these three uses of the Past Participle form.

بنابراین، در این درس قصد داریم این سه استفاده از فرم Past Participle را مرور کنیم.

So, let's start by looking at the active to passive formulation.

بنابراین، بیایید با نگاه کردن به فرمول فعال به غیرفعال شروع کنیم.

Remember that a key point is that we must respect the tense.

به یاد داشته باشید که یک نکته کلیدی این است که باید به زمان احترام بگذاریم.

For example, if the active sentence is: Someone opens the window every day (Present Simple).

برای مثال، اگر جمله فعال این باشد: کسی هر روز پنجره را باز می‌کند (Present Simple).

The passive is: The window is opened every day.

غیرفعال این است: پنجره هر روز باز می‌شود.

Present Simple for the verb 'to be'.

Simple را برای فعل «to be» ارائه کنید.

So, now let's change the tense of the active sentence to Present Perfect.

بنابراین، اکنون زمان جمله فعال را به Present Perfect تغییر می دهیم.

So, someone has opened the window.

بنابراین، شخصی پنجره را باز کرده است.

What's the passive form?

شکل منفعل چیست؟

The passive form is: The window has been opened.

شکل غیرفعال این است: پنجره باز شده است.

The verb 'to be' is now in the Present Perfect tense, 'has been'.

فعل «بودن» اکنون در زمان حال کامل است، «هسته شده است».

Right! An action has taken place. What's the result of this action?

درست! اقدامی انجام شده است. نتیجه این اقدام چیست؟

The result is that the window is now open. 'Open' is an ordinary adjective.

نتیجه این است که اکنون پنجره باز است. «باز» یک صفت معمولی است.

Right! Let's look at another example.

درست! بیایید به یک مثال دیگر نگاه کنیم.

The active sentence is: I have booked our seats. What's the passive sentence?

جمله فعال این است: من صندلی‌هایمان را رزرو کرده‌ام. جمله مفعول چیست؟

The passive sentence is: Our seats have been booked.

جمله مفعول این است: صندلی‌های ما رزرو شده است.

And what's the result?

و نتیجه چیست؟

The result is that our seats are booked.

نتیجه این است که صندلی‌های ما رزرو شده است.

'Booked' is also an adjective. It describes what has happened to the seats.

«رزرو شده» نیز یک صفت است. شرح می‌دهد که چه اتفاقی برای صندلی‌ها افتاده است.

But, it's not an ordinary adjective, it's a participle adjective.

اما، این یک صفت معمولی نیست، یک صفت جزئی است.

Right! Let's look at another example.

درست! بیایید به یک مثال دیگر نگاه کنیم.

The active sentence is: She has completed all the tasks. What's the passive sentence?

جمله فعال این است: او تمام وظایف را انجام داده است. جمله مفعول چیست؟

The passive form is: All the tasks have been completed.

فرم غیرفعال این است: همه کارها تکمیل شده اند.

So, what's the result?

بنابراین، نتیجه چیست؟

The result is that all the tasks are complete or completed.

نتیجه این است که همه کارها کامل یا تکمیل شده اند.

In this situation, you have a choice of the ordinary adjective 'complete', or the participle adjective 'completed'.

در این شرایط، شما می‌توانید از میان صفت معمولی «کامل» یا صفت «کامل» انتخاب کنید.

If you use the ordinary adjective 'complete', you're only describing the noun.

اگر از صفت معمولی «کامل» استفاده می‌کنید، فقط اسم را توصیف می‌کنید.

If you use the participle adjective 'completed',  you're showing that an action was carried out on the noun.

اگر از صفت "تکمیل" استفاده می‌کنید، نشان می‌دهید که یک عمل روی اسم انجام شده است.

Right! Let's finish with two more examples to clarify the three uses of the past participle.

درست! بیایید با دو مثال دیگر برای روشن شدن سه کاربرد فعل ماضی به پایان برسانیم.

Look at the first context.

به زمینه اول نگاه کنید.

Something like: I empty the bin daily.

چیزی مانند: من سطل زباله را روزانه خالی می کنم.

So, when someone asks you: Have you emptied the bin today? They're using 'empty' in the Present Perfect tense active.

بنابراین، وقتی کسی از شما می‌پرسد: آیا امروز سطل زباله را خالی کرده‌اید؟ آنها از «خالی» در زمان حال کامل فعال استفاده می‌کنند.

You can answer: Yes, it has been emptied.

می‌توانید پاسخ دهید: بله، خالی شده است.

You're using 'emptied' in the passive voice of the same tense, Present Perfect.

شما از «تخلیه» در صدای غیرفعال همان زمان، Present Perfect استفاده می‌کنید.

Or, you can just describe the state of the bin: It's emptied.

یا فقط می‌توانید وضعیت سطل زباله را توضیح دهید: خالی شده است.

You're using the Past Participle as an adjective here. A participle adjective.

شما در اینجا از Past Participle به عنوان صفت استفاده می‌کنید. یک صفت جزئی.

But, because the ordinary adjective 'empty'  also exists, you can say: It is empty.

اما، چون صفت معمولی «خالی» نیز وجود دارد، می‌توانید بگویید: خالی است.

Right! Let's look at one final context to make this perfectly clear.

درست! بیایید به یک زمینه نهایی نگاه کنیم تا این موضوع کاملاً روشن شود.

Let's say that you do the shopping every week.

فرض کنید که خرید را هر هفته انجام می دهید.

So, when someone asks you: Have you done the shopping this week?

بنابراین، وقتی کسی از شما می‌پرسد: آیا خرید این هفته را انجام داده‌اید؟

They're using 'done', the past participle, in the Present Perfect tense in the active form.

آن‌ها از «انجام شد»، فعل ماضی، در زمان حال کامل در شکل فعال استفاده می‌کنند.

If you answer: Yes, it has been done. You're using 'done', the past participle, in the passive form of the Present Perfect tense.

اگر پاسخ دهید: بله، انجام شده است. شما از «انجام شد»، حرف گذشته، در حالت مفعول زمان حال کامل استفاده می‌کنید.

Or, you can simply say: It is done.

یا به سادگی می توانید بگویید: انجام شد.

Now, you're using 'done', the past participle, as a participle adjective.

اکنون، شما از «انجام شد»، حرف گذشته، به‌عنوان صفت فعل استفاده می‌کنید.

And in this case, there is no ordinary adjective to describe the result.

و در این مورد، هیچ صفت معمولی برای توصیف نتیجه وجود ندارد.
