At the National Domestic Workers Alliance, we've been working hard in states

I want to tell you a story of a woman I met early on in this work.

Lily and her family lived in Jamaica,

બાળમંદિર માટે બાળકો [વૃદ્ધ] પૂરતા નથી

in unmarked buses,

નિશંકિત બસોમાં,

being shipped off to jails hundreds of miles away.

સેંકડો માઇલ દૂર જેલમાં રવાના કરવામાં આવી રહ્યા છે.

And as they passed us by,

અને જેમ તેઓ અમને પસાર કરતા હતા,

they reached for us through the windows,

તેઓ બારીઓ દ્વારા અમારા સુધી પહોંચતા,

as we stood vigil to let them know that they are not alone,

Domestic workers came from all over Texas to be a part of the vigil.

They saw in those families their own family stories.

They had also come here in search of safety and a new beginning,

And through our tears,

And what I thought to myself was: if domestic workers were in charge,

Our humanity would never have been so disposable

The Dalai Lama once said that love and compassion are necessities,

દલાઈ લામાએ એકવાર કહ્યું હતું કે પ્રેમ અને કરુણા જરૂરી છે,

not luxuries.

વૈભવી નહીં.

Without them, humanity cannot survive.

તેમના વિના, માનવતા ટકી શકતી નથી.

In other words, they are fundamental to human existence.

બીજા શબ્દોમાં કહીએ તો, તે માનવ અસ્તિત્વ માટે મૂળભૂત છે.

Domestic workers are in charge of the fundamentals.

ઘરેલુ કામદારો મૂળભૂત ખર્ચ લે છે.

They love and they care,

તેઓ વહાલ કરે છે અને તેઓ કાળજી લે છે,

and they show compassion no matter what.

અને તેઓ કોઈપણ ભોગે કરુણા બતાવે છે.

We live in a time of moral choices

આપણે નૈતિક પસંદગીઓના સમયમાં જીવીએ છીએ

everywhere we turn:

આપણે જ્યાં પણ વળીએ છીએ:

at the border,

સરહદ પર,

at the ballot box,

મતપેટી પર,

in our workplaces,

આપણા કાર્યસ્થળોમાં,

right in our homes, full of moral choices.

આપણા ઘરોમાં, નૈતિક પસંદગીઓથી ભરેલા.

As you go about your day and you encounter these moral choices,

think of Lily.

Think like Lily.

લીલી જેવા વિચારો.

Think like a domestic worker who shows up and cares no matter what.

ઘરેલું કામદાર જેવું વિચારો જે કોઈ બાબત બતાવે છે અને તેની પરવા કરે છે.

Love and compassion, no matter what.

પ્રેમ અને કરુણા, ભલે ગમે તે હોય.

Show up like a domestic worker,

ઘરેલુ કામદારની જેમ બતાવો,

because our children are counting on us.

કારણ કે આપણા પરથી આપણા બાળકો ગણાય છે.
