and in this video I'm gonna tell you about the  most common English mistake in the universe.

และในวิดีโอนี้

ผมจะบอกคุณเกี่ยวกับข้อผิดพลาดภาษาอังกฤษที่พบบ่อยที่สุดในจักรวาล

Now even native speakers make that mistake.

ตอนนี้แม้แต่เจ้าของภาษาก็ยังทำผิดอย่างนั้น

My mother makes that mistake.

แม่ของฉันทำผิดพลาดนั้น

And to be honest, sometimes I do.

และพูดตามตรง บางครั้งฉันก็ทำ

Its not so much a speaking mistake. It's a writing mistake.

มันไม่ใช่ความผิดพลาดในการพูดมากนัก มันเป็นความผิดพลาดในการเขียน

It's actually to write the possessive  adjective 'your' instead of

จริงๆ แล้วเป็นการเขียนคำคุณศัพท์แสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ 'your' แทน

the contraction 'you're' from 'you are'.

การย่อคำว่า 'you're' จาก 'you are'

This is the most common English mistake

นี่เป็นข้อผิดพลาดภาษาอังกฤษที่พบบ่อยที่สุด

But you need to fix it if you want to speak proper English.

แต่คุณต้องแก้ไขหากคุณต้องการพูดภาษาอังกฤษที่เหมาะสม

Okay, so let's take a look at a  few example sentences together.

เอาล่ะ เรามาดูตัวอย่างประโยคกัน

"Your daughter is pretty."

"ลูกสาวของคุณสวย"

So 'your daughter'.

ดังนั้น 'ลูกสาวของคุณ'

This is the possessive adjective of 'you'.

นี่คือคำคุณศัพท์แสดงความเป็นเจ้าของของ 'คุณ'

Whose daughter?

ลูกสาวใคร?

Yours.

ของคุณ.

Okay?

So the daughter belongs to you.

ตกลง?

ดังนั้นลูกสาวจึงเป็นของคุณ

That's a possessive adjective.

นั่นเป็นคำคุณศัพท์แสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ

So the sentence is correct.

ประโยคนี้จึงถูกต้อง

In the second sentence,

ในประโยคที่สอง

"You're a pretty daughter."

“คุณเป็นลูกสาวที่น่ารัก”

See the difference?

ดูความแตกต่าง?

Now this is not a possessive adjective.

ตอนนี้นี่ไม่ใช่คำคุณศัพท์แสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ

This is the verb 'to be'.

นี่คือคำกริยา 'to be'

But it's the contraction, so it's "You are a pretty daughter."

แต่เป็นการหดตัวจึงเป็น "ลูกสาวน่ารัก"

and the contraction is "You're a pretty daughter."

และคำย่อคือ "คุณเป็นลูกสาวที่น่ารัก"

The problem here is that 'you're' - possessive adjectives and

ปัญหาคือ 'you're' ซึ่งเป็นคำคุณศัพท์แสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ และ

'you're' - contraction of the verb 'to be'

'you're' ซึ่งเป็นคำย่อของคำกริยา 'to be'

have the exact same sound in  many English-speaking regions.

มีเสียงที่เหมือนกันทุกประการในภูมิภาคที่พูดภาษาอังกฤษหลายแห่ง

Okay it's very similar.

โอเค มันคล้ายกันมาก

So when we speak, it's the same.

ดังนั้นเมื่อเราพูดมันก็เหมือนกัน

People don't hear the difference.

คนไม่ได้ยินความแตกต่าง

So the very important thing  is to write it properly.

And there are so many spelling mistakes.

If we look at the third sentence:

"Your a nice person."

What do you think?

คุณคิดอย่างไร?

Is the sentence right or wrong?

ประโยคถูกหรือผิด?

Well it's wrong.

มันผิดนะ.

"Your a nice person."

"คุณเป็นคนดี"

"You are a nice person."

"คุณเป็นคนดี."

So it's the verb 'to be'.

มันคือคำกริยา 'to be'

Okay, so it's not 'your'.

โอเค มันไม่ใช่ 'ของคุณ'

This is the possessive adjective

นี่คือคำคุณศัพท์แสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ

and it should be "you're"- you apostrophe 're'.

และควรเป็น "you're"- คุณอะพอสทรอฟี 're'

Okay?

ตกลง?

I hope you understand the difference between the

ฉันหวังว่าคุณจะเข้าใจความแตกต่างระหว่าง

possessive adjective 'your' and the verb 'to be' contracted so "you're".

Okay so spelling is key here.

And when you speak English, people don't hear the difference.

so it's fine

but it's important to know how to write it and in fact if you look at Facebook
