Hi, everybody.

မင်္ဂလာပါ လူတိုင်း။

In this video, we’re going to learn about possessive adjectives.

ဤဗီဒီယိုတွင်၊ ပိုင်ဆိုင်သော နာမဝိသေသနများအကြောင်း လေ့လာသွားပါမည်။

We use possessive adjectives to show that something belongs to me,

တစ်စုံတစ်ခုသည် ကျွန်ုပ်နှင့်သက်ဆိုင်ကြောင်းပြသရန် ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် အပိုင်ဝိသေသနများကို အသုံးပြုသည်၊

or something belongs to someone else.

သို့မဟုတ် တစ်စုံတစ်ဦး၏ တစ်စုံတစ်ဦးပိုင်ဆိုင်ကြောင်းကို ပြသသည်။

I own something or someone owns something.

ငါ တစ်စုံတစ်ယောက် ပိုင်ဆိုင်သည် သို့မဟုတ် တစ်စုံတစ်ယောက်သည် တစ်စုံတစ်ခု ပိုင်ဆိုင်သည် ။

So let’s take a look at the board.

Now last time we learned about subjective pronouns

အခု နောက်ဆုံးအကြိမ်မှာ ပုဂ္ဂလဓိဋ္ဌာန်နာမ်စားတွေအကြောင်း လေ့လာခဲ့ပြီး

and here they are.

အဲဒါတွေပါ။

‘I’, ‘he’, ‘she’, ‘it’, ‘you’, ‘we’, ‘they’.

'ငါ' 'သူ' 'သူမ' 'အဲဒါ' 'မင်း' 'ငါတို့' 'သူတို့'။

And here are the possessive adjectives.

ဤတွင် အပိုင်နာမဝိသေသနများဖြစ်သည်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

‘My’.

'ငါ့'။

We use ‘my’ to show that something belongs to me.

တစ်စုံတစ်ခုသည် ကျွန်ုပ်နှင့်သက်ဆိုင်ကြောင်းပြသရန် 'my' ကိုအသုံးပြုသည်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

‘His’.

'သူ့'။

This means that something belongs to one man or one boy.

ဆိုလိုသည်မှာ တစ်စုံတစ်ခုသည် အမျိုးသားတစ်ဦး သို့မဟုတ် ယောက်ျားလေးတစ်ဦး၏ ပိုင်ဆိုင်မှုဖြစ်သည်။

‘Her’.

'သူမ'။

We use that to show something belongs to one woman or one girl.

အမျိုးသမီးတစ်ဦး သို့မဟုတ် မိန်းကလေးတစ်ဦး ပိုင်ဆိုင်ကြောင်း ပြသရန် ၎င်းကို ကျွန်ုပ်တို့ အသုံးပြုသည်။

‘Its’.

'င်း'။

We use ‘its’ to show that something belongs to an animal.

တိရစ္ဆာန် တစ်ခုခု ပိုင်ဆိုင်ကြောင်း ပြသရန် '၎င်း' ကို အသုံးပြုသည်။

We use ‘your’ to show that something belongs to you.

သင်ပိုင်ဆိုင်ကြောင်းပြသရန် ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် 'သင့်' ကို အသုံးပြုပါသည်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

‘Our’.

'ငါတို့'။

‘Our’ means that something belongs to me and you or me and somebody else.

'ကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏' ဆိုသည်မှာ ကျွန်ုပ်နှင့် သင် သို့မဟုတ် ကျွန်ုပ်နှင့် အခြားတစ်စုံတစ်ဦးမှ သက်ဆိုင်သည်ဟု ဆိုလိုသည်။

Okay, or me and other people.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ ဒါမှမဟုတ် ငါနဲ့ တခြားလူတွေ။

Okay, and last.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ နောက်ဆုံး။

We use ‘their’ to show that something belongs to many people.

တစ်စုံတစ်ခုသည် လူများစွာပိုင်ဆိုင်ကြောင်းပြသရန် 'သူတို့' ကို ကျွန်ုပ်တို့အသုံးပြုသည်။

Okay, not me, but many people.

အိုကေ၊ ငါမဟုတ်ပေမယ့် လူများတယ်။

Okay, now I want you to pay attention to three special words.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ အခု မင်းကို အထူးစကားလုံးသုံးလုံးကို အာရုံစိုက်စေချင်တယ်။

‘Its’, ‘your’ and ‘their’.

'ဒါ' 'မင်း' နဲ့ 'သူတို့'။

Now I want you to notice these words sound like other words.

အခု ဒီစကားလုံးတွေက တခြားစကားလုံးတွေလို အသံထွက်နေတာကို သတိထားမိစေချင်တယ်။

So you have to be careful not to get them confused.

ဒါကြောင့် သူတို့ကို စိတ်ရှုပ်မခံရအောင် သတိထားရပါမယ်။

And I’m going to explain.

ပြီးတော့ ငါရှင်းပြမယ်။

‘Its’ sounds like the contraction for ‘it is’; ‘it’s’.

'အဲဒါ' ဟာ 'အဲဒါ' အတွက် ကျုံ့နေသလိုလို၊ 'င်း'။

Okay, so, don’t get that confused.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ ဒီလောက်စိတ်ရှုပ်မခံပါနဲ့။

‘Your’ sounds like the contraction for ‘you are’ ‘you’re’.

'မင်း' က 'မင်း' 'မင်း' အတွက် ကျုံ့နေသလိုပဲ။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

So make sure you use this one to show possession.

ဒါကြောင့် ဒီပစ္စည်းကို ပိုင်ဆိုင်ကြောင်းပြသဖို့ သေချာအောင်လုပ်ပါ။

Okay.

And the last word, ‘their’, it actually sounds like two other words.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

နောက်ဆုံးစကားလုံးဖြစ်တဲ့ 'သူတို့' ဟာ တကယ်တော့ တခြားစကားလုံးနှစ်လုံးနဲ့တူပါတယ်။

The contraction for ‘they are’ ‘they’re’

'သူတို့' 'သူတို့' 'သူတို့'

or the word t-h-e-r-e, the other word ‘there’. Okay.

သို့မဟုတ် ဟိုမှာ ဟူသောစကားလုံး၊ အခြားစကားလုံး 'ဟိုမှာ'။ ဟုတ်ပြီ

So please don’t get those confused.

ဒါကြောင့် အဲဒါတွေကို စိတ်ရှုပ်မခံပါနဲ့။

Now I know all of this sounds very hard,

အခုဆို ဒီအရာတွေအားလုံးက အရမ်းခက်ခဲတယ်ဆိုတာ ငါသိ

but if you practice with me, I’m sure you’ll understand.

ပေမယ့် မင်းငါနဲ့လေ့ကျင့်ရင် မင်းနားလည်မှာသေချာတယ်။

So let’s move on to the next part.

ဒါဆို နောက်တစ်ပိုင်းကို ဆက်ကြည့်ရအောင်။

Okay, let’s practice together.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ အတူတူလေ့ကျင့်ကြရအောင်။

Now, here I have a marker.

အခု ဒီမှာ အမှတ်အသားတစ်ခုရှိတယ်။

It belongs to me.

ငါပိုင်တယ်။

So, I have to say, “This is my marker.”

ဒါကြောင့် “ဒါက ငါ့ရဲ့ အမှတ်အသားပဲ” လို့ ပြောရပါမယ်။

“This isn’t your marker.”

“ဒါက မင်းရဲ့ အမှတ်အသား မဟုတ်ဘူး။”

“This is my marker.”

"ဒါက ငါ့ရဲ့ အမှတ်အသားပဲ။"

Okay, let’s look at this boy.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ ဒီကောင်လေးကိုကြည့်ရအောင်။

He has a hat.

သူ့မှာ ဦးထုပ်ရှိတယ်။

So, I have to say, “This is his hat.”

ဒီတော့ “ဒါက သူ့ဦးထုပ်” လို့ပြောရမယ်။

“This is his hat.”

"ဒါက သူ့ဦးထုပ်။"

“This isn’t my hat.”

“ဒါ ငါ့ဦးထုပ် မဟုတ်ဘူး”

“This isn’t your hat.”

"ဒါ မင်းဦးထုပ် မဟုတ်ဘူး"

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

And this girl has a dress.

ပြီးတော့ ဒီကောင်မလေးက ၀တ်စုံရှိတယ်။

So, “This is her dress.”

ဒီတော့ "ဒါက သူ့အဝတ်အစားပဲ"

“This is her dress.”

"ဒါက သူ့အဝတ်အစားပဲ"

“This isn’t my dress.”

“ဒါ ငါ့အဝတ်အစားမဟုတ်ဘူး”

“This isn’t your dress.”

"ဒါ မင်းအဝတ်အစားမဟုတ်ဘူး"

Okay, in this picture there’s an animal; a dog…and it has a ball.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ ဒီပုံမှာ တိရစ္ဆာန်တစ်ကောင်ရှိတယ်။ ခွေးတစ်ကောင်... ပြီးတော့ ဘောလုံးတစ်လုံးရှိတယ်။

I have to say, “This is its ball.”

“ဒါက သူ့ရဲ့ဘောလုံးပဲ” လို့ပြောရပါမယ်။

“This is its ball.”

"ဒါက သူ့ရဲ့ဘောလုံးပဲ"

“This isn’t my ball.”

"ဒါ ငါ့ဘောလုံးမဟုတ်ဘူး"

and “This isn’t your ball.”

"ဒါက မင်းရဲ့ဘောလုံးမဟုတ်ဘူး"

Now, in this picture, we have two people.

အခု ဒီပုံမှာ လူနှစ်ယောက်ရှိတယ်။

Okay, and they both own this house.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ သူတို့နှစ်ယောက်လုံး ဒီအိမ်ပိုင်တယ်။

So, “This is their house.”

ဒီတော့ "ဒါက သူတို့အိမ်ပဲ"

“This is their house.”

"ဒါက သူတို့အိမ်ပဲ"

Okay, now a little bit farther away, we have three books.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ အခုနည်းနည်းဝေးတယ်၊ ငါတို့မှာစာအုပ်သုံးအုပ်ရှိတယ်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

And this boy and girl have the books here.

ပြီးတော့ ဒီကောင်လေးနဲ့ ကောင်မလေး ဒီမှာ စာအုပ်တွေ ရှိတယ်။

So, we have to say “those”.

အဲဒီတော့ “အဲဒါတွေ” လို့ ပြောရမယ်။

And because we have more than one,

ကျွန်ုပ်တို့တွင် တစ်ခုထက်ပိုသော ကြောင့်

we have to use ‘are’.

'are' ကိုသုံးရမည်ဖြစ်ပါသည်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

“Those are their books.”

"ဒါက သူတို့စာအုပ်တွေပဲ"

“Those are their books.”

"ဒါက သူတို့စာအုပ်တွေပဲ"

“Those aren’t my books.”

“ဒါတွေက ငါ့စာအုပ်တွေမဟုတ်ဘူး”

“Those aren’t your books.”

"ဒါ မင်းရဲ့စာအုပ်တွေမဟုတ်ဘူး"

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

And the last one.

နောက်ဆုံးတစ်ခု။

Here’s the county Korea.

ဒါကတော့ ကိုရီးယားခရိုင်ပါ။

Okay, we all live here.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ ငါတို့အားလုံးဒီမှာနေကြတယ်

So we say, “This is our country.”

ဒီတော့ ငါတို့က “ဒါ ငါတို့နိုင်ငံပဲ” တဲ့။

“This is our country.”

"ဒါ ငါတို့တိုင်းပြည်။"

Okay, let’s move on to the next part for some more practice.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ နောက်ထပ်အလေ့အကျင့်တစ်ခုအတွက် နောက်အပိုင်းကို ဆက်ကြည့်ရအောင်။

Here are some practice sentences.

ဒါတွေကတော့ လေ့ကျင့်ထားတဲ့ စာကြောင်းအချို့ပါ။

We’re going to put possessive adjectives on these lines.

ဤစာကြောင်းများပေါ်တွင် အပိုင်ဝိသေသလက္ခဏာများ ထည့်ပါမည်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

So, let’s try together.

ဒီတော့ အတူတူ ကြိုးစားကြည့်ရအောင်။

“I put candy in ____ mouth.”

"ကျွန်တော် ____ ပါးစပ်ထဲ သကြားလုံးထည့်လိုက်တယ်"

Okay, this is a mouth.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ ဒါက ပါးစပ်ပဲ။

“I put candy in ……”

"သကြားလုံးထည့်မယ်......"

What should we put?

ဘာထည့်ရမလဲ။

“my mouth.”

"ငါ့ပါးစပ်။"

Okay, next.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ နောက်။

“John.”

"ဂျွန်။"

John is one man or boy.

John သည် ယောက်ျားလေးတစ်ယောက်ဖြစ်သည်။

“John lost ____ bag.”

"John ____ အိတ် ပျောက်သွားတယ်။"

Okay, for one man or boy, we say, “his”.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ ယောက်ျားလေးတစ်ယောက်အတွက်၊ ငါတို့က "သူ့" ဟုပြောကြသည်။

“John lost his bag.”

"John သူ့အိတ်​​ပျောက်​သွားတယ်​"

Okay, “The parents…”

အိုကေ၊ “မိဘများ…”

That’s more than one person. That’s two people.

အဲဒါက လူတစ်ဦးထက်ပိုပါတယ်။ အဲဒါ လူနှစ်ယောက်။

So, “The parents love ____ baby.”

ဒါကြောင့် “မိဘတွေက ____ ကလေးကို ချစ်တယ်။”

We have to put…

"သူတို့" ထားရမယ်

“their”.

။

“The parents love their baby.”

"မိဘတွေက သားသမီးကို ချစ်တယ်။"

Okay. And here, “The dog…”

ဟုတ်ပြီ “ခွေး…”

Okay, ‘the dog’ is an animal.

ဟုတ်ပြီ 'ခွေး' သည် တိရစ္ဆာန်ဖြစ်သည်။

So, “The dog eats ____ food.”

ဒီတော့ "ခွေးက ____ အစာစားတယ်။"

What do we put?

ငါတို့ဘာထားလဲ။

We have to say, “its”.

“အဲဒါ” လို့ ပြောရမယ်။

“The dog eats its food.”

"ခွေးက အစာစားတယ်။"

Okay, let’s look at some more examples.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ နောက်ထပ် ဥပမာအချို့ကို ကြည့်ရအောင်။

Let’s continue.

ဆက်ကြရအောင်။

“_____ names are Paul and Sam.”

“_____ နာမည်က Paul နဲ့ Sam ပါ။”

Okay, we have two people, Paul, and Sam.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ ငါတို့မှာ Paul နဲ့ Sam နှစ်ယောက်ရှိတယ်။

And the plural names.

ဗဟုဝုစ်အမည်များ။

So we have to say, “Their”.

အဲဒီတော့ “သူတို့” လို့ ပြောရမယ်။

“Their names are Paul and Sam.”

“သူတို့နာမည်က ပေါလ်နဲ့ ဆမ်ပါ။”

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

“Can I use ____ phone?”

"____ဖုန်းသုံးလို့ရလား"

Okay, I’m asking you.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ ငါမင်းကိုမေးနေတယ်။

So I have to say, “Can I use… your phone?”

ဒါကြောင့် "မင်းရဲ့ဖုန်းကို ငါသုံးလို့ရမလား" လို့ ပြောရပါမယ်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

And the next one. “_____ make-up looks good.”

နောက်တစ်ခု။ “_____ မိတ်ကပ်လိမ်းတာက ကြည့်ကောင်းတယ်။”

Whose make-up? Well, usually girls or women wear make-up.

ဘယ်သူ့မိတ်ကပ်လဲ များသောအားဖြင့် မိန်းကလေးတွေ ဒါမှမဟုတ် အမျိုးသမီးတွေက မိတ်ကပ်လိမ်းတယ်။

So, I’m going to say,

ဒီတော့ “သူမရဲ့ မိတ်ကပ်လိမ်းပုံက ကြည့်ကောင်းတယ်”

“Her make-up looks good.”

လို့ပြောမယ် ။

Okay, and…

ကောင်းပြီ၊ နှင့်…

“_____ videos are helpful to you.”

“_____ ဗီဒီယိုများသည် သင့်အတွက် အထောက်အကူဖြစ်စေပါသည်။”

Okay, these are the videos that we make. Right?

အိုကေ၊ ဒါတွေက ကျွန်တော်တို့ ဖန်တီးထားတဲ့ ဗီဒီယိုတွေပါ။ ဟုတ်တယ်ဟုတ်?

So, the answer is “our”.

Or we sure hope they are.

Okay, so in this video, we learned how to use possessive adjectives.
