In this video, we’re going to learn about possessive adjectives.

এই ভিডিওতে, আমরা অধিকারী বিশেষণ সম্পর্কে শিখতে যাচ্ছি।

We use possessive adjectives to show that something belongs to me,

কিছু আমার, বা কিছু অন্য কারোর

or something belongs to someone else.

তা দেখানোর জন্য আমরা অধিকারী বিশেষণ ব্যবহার করি

I own something or someone owns something.

। আমি কিছুর মালিক বা কেউ কিছুর মালিক।

Okay.

So let’s take a look at the board.

Now last time we learned about subjective pronouns

and here they are.

And here are the possessive adjectives.

‘My’.

We use ‘my’ to show that something belongs to me.

‘His’.

'তার'।

This means that something belongs to one man or one boy.

এর মানে হল কিছু একটা পুরুষ বা একটা ছেলের।

‘Her’.

'তার'।

We use that to show something belongs to one woman or one girl.

আমরা এটি ব্যবহার করি কিছু দেখানোর জন্য যা একজন মহিলা বা একটি মেয়ের।

‘Its’.

'এর'।

We use ‘its’ to show that something belongs to an animal.

কিছু একটা প্রাণীর অন্তর্গত তা দেখানোর জন্য আমরা 'তার' ব্যবহার করি।

We use ‘your’ to show that something belongs to you.

আমরা 'আপনার' ব্যবহার করি তা দেখানোর জন্য যে কিছু আপনার।

‘Our’ means that something belongs to me and you or me and somebody else.

Okay, or me and other people.

Okay, and last.

We use ‘their’ to show that something belongs to many people.

Okay, now I want you to pay attention to three special words.

‘Its’ sounds like the contraction for ‘it is’; ‘it’s’.

Okay, so, don’t get that confused.

And the last word, ‘their’, it actually sounds like two other words.

Okay, in this picture there’s an animal; a dog…and it has a ball.

I have to say, “This is its ball.”

Now, in this picture, we have two people.

What should we put?

John is one man or boy.

Okay, for one man or boy, we say, “his”.

That’s more than one person. That’s two people.

We have to put…

What do we put?

We have to say, “its”.

So, I’m going to say,
