‘who’s’ ‘who + apostrophe + s’ is the contraction

'who's'

'who + 아포스트로피 + s'는 'to be' 동사의 축약형입니다.

of the verb ‘to be’. So it's actually ‘who is’.

그래서 그것은 실제로 '누구인가'입니다.

If I say, ‘who's on the phone?’, it’s ‘who is on the phone’.

'통화 중인 사람은 누구지?'라고 하면

'전화 중인 사람'이 됩니다.

‘whose’ in one word ‘whose’ is the possessive.

'whose'는 한 단어로 'whose'가 소유격입니다.

누구의 소유인지를 의미합니다.

It means who does it belong to. For example, ‘whose bag is this?’ meaning

예를 들어 '이것은 누구의 가방인가요?'

‘who does this bag belong to?’ And you can say, ‘It's my bag.’

'이 가방은 누구의 것인가요?'라는 뜻이에요.

그리고 '이건 내 가방이야'라고 말할 수도 있죠.

‘It's your bag.’ It's a possessive.

'그건 당신 가방이에요.'

소유격입니다.

정말로 모른다면

If you really don't know just try and replace the ‘s’ or ‘se’ with the verb to be.

's'나 'se'를 be 동사로 바꿔보세요.

And see if it works. If it works, then it's the contraction of

그리고 그것이 작동하는지 확인하십시오.

It's the possessive. ‘Whose mother is this?’

소유격입니다.

It's my mother. It's your mother.

It's his mother. Okay? Now one final example.

그의 어머니예요.

‘Who's in the house?’ Come on, guys.

'집에 누가 있나요?'

Which one is it? Is it the verb ‘to be’ or is it the possessive?

It's obviously the verb ‘to be’. You can say ‘Who is in the house?’

분명히 '되다'라는 동사입니다.

'집에 누가 있나요?'라고 말할 수 있습니다. 좋아요?
