In this video, we’re going to talk about subjective pronouns.

이번 영상에서는 주관적 대명사에 대해 이야기해보겠습니다.

So, let’s take a look at the board.

그럼, 보드를 살펴보겠습니다.

Here they are. The subjective pronouns.

여기 있습니다. 주관적인 대명사.

Please take a careful look. They’re very important in English.

주의 깊게 살펴보시기 바랍니다. 영어에서는 매우 중요합니다.

Okay. So, the first subjective pronoun is ‘I’.

좋아요. 따라서 첫 번째 주관대명사는 '나'입니다.

“I” means me. “I’m Esther”.

"나"는 나를 의미합니다. “저는 에스더입니다.”

He Now, “he” is only used for boys or men.

He 이제 “he”는 남자아이나 남자에게만 사용됩니다.

Okay. He

좋아요. 그

So another boy or man is “he”.

그래서 다른 소년이나 남자는 "그"입니다.

“She” is used for girls or women.

"She"는 소녀나 여성에게 사용됩니다.

Okay. She

좋아요. She

It “It” is used for a place like a school, an animal like a dog, or a thing like a chair.

It “It”은 학교 같은 장소, 개 같은 동물, 의자 같은 사물에 사용됩니다.

Okay. It

좋아요. 그

The next one is “you”. “You” means you.

다음은 '당신'입니다. "당신"은 당신을 의미합니다.

Okay. “you”.

좋아요. "너".

We “We” means other people and me.

우리 "우리"는 다른 사람과 나를 의미합니다.

For example, “I sing”, “you sing”, then “we sing”.

예를 들어, “나는 노래한다”, “너는 노래한다”, “우리는 노래한다”를 차례로 입력합니다.

Okay. “we”.

좋아요. "우리".

And the last one is “they”.

그리고 마지막은 '그들'이다.

“They” means many people, places, animals or things.

“그들”은 많은 사람, 장소, 동물 또는 사물을 의미합니다.

Okay. So, more than one.

좋아요. 따라서 하나 이상입니다.

If there’s more than one, we use the subjective pronoun ‘they’.

둘 이상이면 주관대명사 '그들'을 사용합니다.

Okay, let’s move on to the next part.

좋아요, 다음 부분으로 넘어가겠습니다.

Okay, so let’s practice together with subjective pronouns.

자, 그럼 주관대명사를 함께 연습해 볼까요?

The first sentence on the board says, “Jenny sings”.

칠판의 첫 번째 문장은 "Jenny sings"입니다.

Now Jenny is one girl.

이제 Jenny는 한 소녀입니다.

So we can say, “She sings”.

그래서 우리는 “그녀는 노래한다”라고 말할 수 있습니다.

“Jack sings”. Jack is one boy.

“잭이 노래해요.” 잭은 한 소년입니다.

So we have to say, “he sings”.

그래서 우리는 “그가 노래한다”고 말해야 합니다.

The last sentence says, “Jenny and Jack sing”.

마지막 문장은 “Jenny and Jack sing”입니다.

Now Jenny and Jack are two people.

이제 Jenny와 Jack은 두 사람이 되었습니다.

So we have to say, “they sing”.

그래서 우리는 “그들은 노래한다”고 말해야 합니다.

Okay, let’s move on to the next part.

좋아요, 다음 부분으로 넘어가겠습니다.

Okay, let’s do some more practice.

The first sentence on the board says,

칠판의 첫 번째 문장은

“The cat runs”.

"고양이는 달린다"입니다.

‘The cat’ is an animal, so we have to say, “It runs”.

'고양이'는 동물이므로 '달린다'고 말해야 합니다.

The next sentence says, “The dog and cat run”.

다음 문장은 “The dog and cat run”입니다.

Now, ‘the dog and cat’, they are two animals.

이제 '개와 고양이'는 두 마리의 동물입니다.

So anytime you have two or more things, we say, “They run”.

그래서 두 개 이상의 물건이 있을 때마다 우리는 "그들이 실행됩니다"라고 말합니다.

‘They’.

'그들'.

Okay, now, for the last sentence, I’m going to talk about my cat, Ongee.

자, 이제 마지막 문장으로 내 고양이 옹지에 대해 이야기하겠습니다.

Ongee is a cat. He’s an animal.

옹이는 고양이예요. 그는 동물입니다.

But he has a name. He’s a boy cat.

하지만 그에겐 이름이 있어요. 그는 소년 고양이입니다.

Okay and I love him. And he’s like family.

알았어, 난 그를 사랑해. 그리고 그는 가족과 같습니다.

So, “Ongee runs”. I can say “He runs”.

그래서 '옹이는 달린다'. 나는 “그는 달린다”라고 말할 수 있다.

Okay. Let’s move on to the next part.

좋아요. 다음 부분으로 넘어 갑시다.

Okay, here are some more examples.

좋습니다. 여기에 몇 가지 예가 더 있습니다.

But, this time, you have to figure out the subjective pronoun together with me.

그런데 이번에는 저와 함께 주관대명사를 알아내셔야 해요.

Okay. So, “My students study”.

좋아요. 그래서 “내 학생들은 공부해요”라고요.

What should we use?

우리는 무엇을 사용해야 합니까?

Well, ‘My students’, there’s an ‘s’. Right.

글쎄요, '내 학생들'에는 's'가 있어요. 오른쪽.

They’re people and there’s more than one.

그들은 사람이고 한 명 이상이 있습니다.

Many people.

많은 사람.

So we have to use the subjective pronoun, ‘they’.

그래서 우리는 주관대명사 '그들'을 사용해야 합니다.

“They study”.

"그들은 공부한다".

The next example.

다음 예입니다.

“John is handsome”.

“존은 잘생겼어요.”

Okay, ‘John’, that’s a person.

좋아요, '존', 저 사람이에요.

There’s only one. Right…

단 하나뿐입니다. 그렇죠...

And it’s a boy, ‘John’.

그리고 남자아이 '존'이에요.

So what should we use?

그러면 우리는 무엇을 사용해야 할까요?

We have to use the subjective pronoun, ‘he’.

주관대명사 '그'를 사용해야 합니다.

One boy. We say, “he”.

한 소년. 우리는 “그 사람”이라고 말합니다.

“He is handsome”.

"그는 잘 생긴입니다".

Okay, the last one. “Pizza is delicious”.

좋아요, 마지막이에요. “피자가 맛있어요.”

‘Pizza’ is a thing.

'피자'는 물건이다.

And there’s only one. Right.

그리고 단 하나뿐입니다. 오른쪽.

There’s no ‘s’. One pizza.

's'가 없습니다. 피자 한 개.

We say, “it”.

우리는 “그것”이라고 말합니다.

“It is delicious”. Okay.

“맛있어요.” 좋아요.

Let’s move on to some more examples.

몇 가지 예를 더 살펴보겠습니다.

Okay, the first example says,

좋아요, 첫 번째 예는

“Seoul is a city”.

“서울은 도시입니다”입니다.

Now, ‘Seoul’ is a place. Okay.

이제 '서울'은 장소이다. 좋아요.

So we have to use the subjective pronoun, ‘it’.

그래서 우리는 주관대명사 '그것'을 사용해야 합니다.

“It is a city”.

“도시입니다.”

The next example says,

다음 예문은

“My parents love Ongee”.

“저희 부모님은 옹기를 사랑하십니다”입니다.

Now, ‘Ongee’ is my cat. “My parents love Ongee”.

이제 '옹이'는 내 고양이예요. “저희 부모님은 옹이를 좋아하세요.”

Well, ‘my parents’, they are two people. My mom and my dad.

자, '나의 부모님'은 두 사람입니다. 우리 엄마와 아빠.

So, what do I use?

그럼 나는 무엇을 사용합니까?

I have to say, “they”. “They love Ongee”.

나는 "그들"이라고 말해야 한다. “그들은 옹기를 사랑해요”.

The last example is very similar to the second one.

마지막 예는 두 번째 예와 매우 유사합니다.

“My parents and I love Ongee”. Okay.

“저희 부모님과 저는 옹기를 사랑합니다.” 좋아요.

The difference is… it says, “and I”.

차이점은… "그리고 나"라고 말합니다.

So this is ‘my parents’ with ‘me’.

그래서 이것은 '나'와 함께 '부모님'입니다.

So I have to say, “we”. “We love Ongee”.

그래서 저는 “우리”라고 말해야 합니다. “우리는 옹기를 사랑해요”.

Okay. All of us.
