In this video, we’re going to talk about adjectives.

في هذا الفيديو ، سنتحدث عن الصفات.

Now, we use adjectives to describe nouns or things.

الآن ، نستخدم الصفات لوصف الأسماء أو الأشياء.

Okay, we can describe its size, its color, its shape or other things like that.

حسنًا ، يمكننا وصف حجمها أو لونها أو شكلها أو أشياء أخرى من هذا القبيل.

Okay.

So let’s take a look at the board.

لذلك دعونا نلقي نظرة على السبورة.

The first noun we’re going to use is ‘marker’.

الاسم الأول الذي سنستخدمه هو "علامة".

“It’s a marker.”

"إنها علامة."

Now, I want to use an adjective to describe the color.

الآن ، أريد استخدام صفة لوصف اللون.

I'm going to say, “It’s a ‘black’ marker.”

سأقول ، "إنها علامة" سوداء ".

‘Black’ is the adjective.

"الأسود" هي الصفة.

Now notice, I have to put the adjective after the article ‘a’, but before the noun ‘marker’.

لاحظ الآن ، لا بد لي من وضع الصفة بعد المقالة "أ" ، ولكن قبل "علامة" الاسم.

“It’s a black marker.”

"إنها علامة سوداء."

Now, I can use another adjective to describe its size.

الآن ، يمكنني استخدام صفة أخرى لوصف حجمها.

“It’s a long marker.”

"إنها علامة طويلة."

Let’s try the next one.

Here we have a bird.

So, “It’s a bird.”

I want to use another adjective to describe the color.

So, I’m going to say, “It’s a blue bird.”

Again, you have to put the adjective after the article, before the noun.

I can also describe its size.

يمكنني أيضا وصف حجمها.

“It’s a small bird.”

"إنه طائر صغير."

‘Small’ is another adjective.

"صغير" صفة أخرى.

Now, at the last part, we have some apples.

الآن ، في الجزء الأخير ، لدينا بعض التفاح.

Three apples.

ثلاث تفاحات.

Okay, remember, when we have more than one noun, it’s called a plural noun.

حسنًا ، تذكر ، عندما يكون لدينا أكثر من اسم ، يطلق عليه اسم الجمع.

So, we have to say, “They’re apples.”, with an ‘s’.

لذا ، علينا أن نقول ، "إنها تفاح." ، بحرف "s".

“They’re apples.”

I want to use the adjective ‘red’ to describe the color of these apples.

أريد استخدام صفة "أحمر" لوصف لون هذه التفاحات.

So, I’m going to say, “They’re red apples.”

Okay.

Here, there’s no article.

There’s no ‘a’.

That’s because there’s more than one.

“They’re red apples.”

So, I just have to put the adjective before the noun that it’s describing.

“They’re red apples.”

Okay, let’s move on to some more examples.

Okay. Now we’re going to practice asking and answering questions using adjectives.

So, we have a man here.

I want to ask, “Is he a small man?”

Okay.

We have the adjective ‘small’.

Notice, even in a question,

we have to put the adjective after the article and before the noun.

“Is he a small man?”

"هل هو رجل صغير؟"

Well, let’s take a look at this picture.

The answer is, “No, he’s a _____ man.”

We need another adjective.

نحن بحاجة إلى صفة أخرى.

He’s not a small man.

So, we have to say “No, he’s a…

We’re going to use the adjective ‘big’.

Okay, let’s look at the next one.

“Is it a _____ table?”

"هل هي طاولة _____؟"

The answer is “Yes, it is.”

الجواب هو "نعم ، إنه كذلك".

We need an adjective to describe color, shape or size or something.

نحتاج إلى صفة لوصف اللون أو الشكل أو الحجم أو شيء من هذا القبيل.

Well, we can’t really describe the color.

حسنًا ، لا يمكننا وصف اللون حقًا.

So, I think we should try the shape.

لذا ، أعتقد أننا يجب أن نجرب الشكل.

Okay.

Well, “Is it a….

round table?”

And the answer is “Yes, it is.”

Okay, and last, we have two dresses.

Okay. So that means the noun is plural.

In that case, for the questions, we begin with ‘are’.

Okay, the adjective is ‘red’.
