In this video, we’re going to talk about adjectives.

ในวิดีโอนี้ เราจะพูดถึงคำคุณศัพท์

Now, we use adjectives to describe nouns or things.

ตอนนี้เราใช้คำคุณศัพท์เพื่ออธิบายคำนามหรือสิ่งของ

Okay, we can describe its size, its color, its shape or other things like that.

โอเค เราสามารถอธิบายขนาด สี รูปร่าง หรืออะไรทำนองนั้นได้

Okay.

ตกลง.

So let’s take a look at the board.

งั้นเรามาดูที่บอร์ดกันดีกว่า

The first noun we’re going to use is ‘marker’.

คำนามแรกที่เราจะใช้คือ 'marker'

“It’s a marker.”

“มันเป็นเครื่องหมาย”

Now, I want to use an adjective to describe the color.

ตอนนี้ ฉันต้องการใช้คำคุณศัพท์เพื่ออธิบายสี

I'm going to say, “It’s a ‘black’ marker.”

ฉันจะพูดว่า "มันคือเครื่องหมาย 'สีดำ'"

‘Black’ is the adjective.

'สีดำ' เป็นคำคุณศัพท์

Now notice, I have to put the adjective after the article ‘a’, but before the noun ‘marker’.

ตอนนี้สังเกตว่าฉันต้องใส่คำคุณศัพท์หลังบทความ 'a' แต่ก่อนคำนาม 'marker'

“It’s a black marker.”

“มันคือรอยดำ”

Now, I can use another adjective to describe its size.

“It’s a long marker.”

“มันเป็นเครื่องหมายยาว”

Okay.

Let’s try the next one.

Here we have a bird.

So, “It’s a bird.”

I want to use another adjective to describe the color.

So, I’m going to say, “It’s a blue bird.”

Again, you have to put the adjective after the article, before the noun.

I can also describe its size.

“It’s a small bird.”

‘Small’ is another adjective.

'เล็ก' เป็นอีกคำคุณศัพท์

Now, at the last part, we have some apples.

ในส่วนสุดท้าย เรามีแอปเปิ้ลอยู่บ้าง

Three apples.

Okay, remember, when we have more than one noun, it’s called a plural noun.

โอเค จำไว้ว่าเมื่อเรามีคำนามมากกว่าหนึ่งคำ จะเรียกว่าคำนามพหูพจน์

So, we have to say, “They’re apples.”, with an ‘s’.

ดังนั้นเราจึงต้องพูดว่า “พวกมันคือแอปเปิ้ล” โดยมีเครื่องหมาย 's'

“They’re apples.”

“พวกมันคือแอปเปิ้ล”

I want to use the adjective ‘red’ to describe the color of these apples.

ฉันต้องการใช้คำคุณศัพท์ 'สีแดง' เพื่ออธิบายสีของแอปเปิ้ลเหล่านี้

So, I’m going to say, “They’re red apples.”

ฉันจะพูดว่า "พวกมันคือแอปเปิ้ลแดง"

Okay.

Here, there’s no article.

ที่นี่ไม่มีบทความ

There’s no ‘a’.

ไม่มี 'ก'

That’s because there’s more than one.

“They’re red apples.”

So, I just have to put the adjective before the noun that it’s describing.

“They’re red apples.”

Okay, let’s move on to some more examples.

Okay. Now we’re going to practice asking and answering questions using adjectives.

So, we have a man here.

I want to ask, “Is he a small man?”

Okay.

We have the adjective ‘small’.

Notice, even in a question,

we have to put the adjective after the article and before the noun.

เราต้องใส่คำคุณศัพท์ไว้หลังบทความและหน้าคำนาม

“Is he a small man?”

“เขาเป็นคนตัวเล็กเหรอ?”

Well, let’s take a look at this picture.

เอาล่ะ เรามาดูภาพนี้กันดีกว่า

The answer is, “No, he’s a _____ man.”

คำตอบคือ “ไม่ เขาเป็นผู้ชาย _____”

We need another adjective.

เราต้องการคำคุณศัพท์อื่น

He’s not a small man.

เขาไม่ใช่คนตัวเล็ก

So, we have to say “No, he’s a…

ดังนั้นเราจึงต้องพูดว่า "ไม่ เขาเป็น...

big man.”

ชายร่างใหญ่"

Okay.

We’re going to use the adjective ‘big’.

Okay, let’s look at the next one.

“Is it a _____ table?”

“มันเป็นตาราง _____ เหรอ?”

The answer is “Yes, it is.”

คำตอบคือ “ใช่แล้ว”

We need an adjective to describe color, shape or size or something.

เราต้องการคำคุณศัพท์เพื่ออธิบายสี รูปร่าง ขนาด หรืออะไรบางอย่าง

Well, we can’t really describe the color.

เราไม่สามารถอธิบายสีได้จริงๆ

So, I think we should try the shape.

ผมคิดว่าเราควรลองรูปทรงดูบ้าง

Okay.

ตกลง.

Well, “Is it a….

“คือว่า….

round table?”

โต๊ะกลม?"

And the answer is “Yes, it is.”

และคำตอบคือ “ใช่แล้ว”

Okay, and last, we have two dresses.

เอาล่ะ และสุดท้าย เรามีสองชุด

Okay. So that means the noun is plural.

ตกลง. นั่นหมายความว่าคำนามนั้นเป็นพหูพจน์

In that case, for the questions, we begin with ‘are’.

“Are they red dresses?”

Okay, the adjective is ‘red’.
