And my workday is done.

So, even though I'm done my workday, and I can go home,

मेरा काम ख़त्म हो गया तो मैं घर जा सकता हूँ लेकिन उससे पहले

the next thing I usually do is I run some errands.

मैं आमतौर कुछ और काम (run some errands) भी करता हूँ।

In English, when you say that you need to run some errands,

अंग्रेज़ी में "run some errands" करने का मतलब होता है कि

it means that you need to do things

आपको कुछ काम करने हैं जैसे कि डाकघर जाना या कुछ किराने का सामान ख़रीदना। इस तरह के काम।

like go to the post office, maybe you need

to buy a few groceries, and those types of things.

So before I run some errands,

इससे पहले कि मैं इस तरह के काम करने जाऊँ,

I'm also going to check my email and check my text messages

मैं अपने ई-मेल और मैसेज चैक कर लेता हूँ

because before I run some errands,

I wanna find out if there's anything that Jen might need

So Jen just texted me back and said that we need

So I'm going to run two errands.

I'm going to go and check my mail at the post office,

and then I'm going to go to the grocery store

and get some bananas.

So I'm at the post office,

and I'm just about to go in to check my mail.

But I just wanted to mention once again

Look at these beautiful stamps.

The envelope actually contains a card

from Sirirak from Thailand.

And the card says, "Happy New Year 2020.

I love it.

So when I pick out bananas, when I choose bananas,

जब मैं केले चुनता हूँ (pick out या choose),

those two verbs mean the same thing.

इन दोनों क्रियाओं का एक ही मतलब है,

I like to pick out bananas that are yellow

तो ऐसे केले चुनता हूँ जो पीले हों और खाने के लिये बिल्कुल तैयार हों।

and ready to eat right now.

And I like to pick out bananas that are a little bit green,

और मैं कुछ ऐसे केले भी चुनता हूँ जो थोड़े हरे हों

that I can eat later this week when they are ripe.

जिन्हें मैं बाद में खा सकता हूँ जब वो पक जाएँ।

By the way, if you're from a country that grows bananas,

अगर आप किसी ऐसे देश से हैं जो केले उगाता है

thank you for the bananas.

These bananas are from Ecuador.

Well, I got my bananas, but unfortunately,

मुझे केले तो मिल गए लेकिन

they wouldn't let me continue to make a video

while I was going through the checkout.

So I really wanted to show you what it's like

to go through a checkout in a grocery store

and pay for your groceries, but I couldn't.

But, anyways, I did get my bananas.

So this isn't part of my daily routine,

but whenever I'm out running errands,

I'm always tempted to go to Tim Horton's,

But I'm trying to lose weight and stay healthy,

So I have finished my workday.

I have finished running errands.

The next thing I normally do in my daily routine

अगला काम जो मैं अपने रोज़ के कामों में करता हूँ वो है घर जाना।

is I go home.

It is my favorite part of the day.

ये मेरा दिन का पसंदीदा हिस्सा है।

So in English, you just heard me say,

आपने अभी-अभी अंग्रेज़ी में मुझे "The next thing I do is I go home" कहते हुए सुना।

"The next thing I do is I go home."

I could also say, the next thing I do in my day is I head home.

मैं "The next thing I do in my day is I head home" भी कह सकता था।

I go home and I head home are both very common phrases

"I go home" और "I head home" दोनों ही बहुत ही आम वाक्य हैं अंग्रेज़ी में

in English, and they mean exactly the same thing.

और दोनों का मतलब बिल्कुल एक है।

So let's get going.

तो चलिये चलते हैं।

(car engine starts)

(गाड़ी का इंजन चलता हुआ)

The next thing I do every day when I get home from work

अगला काम जो मैं रोज़ करता हूँ घर पहुँचने पर वो है

is I say hi to my wife Jen.

अपनी पत्नी जैन को हैलो करना।

Hi, Jen.

हैलो, जैन।

- Hi, Bob.

हैलो, बॉब।

And I say hi to my kids.

और अपने बच्चों से हैलो करना।

Hi, kids.

हैलो, बच्चों।

- [Kids] Hi, Dad.

हैलो, पापा।

- [Son] Hi, Dad.

हैलो, पापा।

See, I really do have five kids.

देखा, मेरे वाकई में पाँच बच्चे हैं।

After that, I usually go for a walk.

इसके बाद मैं सैर के लिये जाता हूँ।

I try to go for a walk every day.

मैं कोशिश करता हूँ कि हर रोज़ सैर करने जाऊँ।

This is something that I do for exercise.

ऐसा मैं कसरत करने के लिये करता हूँ।

Some people go for a run, but I like to go for a walk.

कुछ लोग दौड़ने के लिये जाते हैं लेकिन मुझे सैर करना पसंद है।

But the weather outside isn't great,

बाहर मौसम अच्छा नहीं है

and these are not the clothes I normally wear

और आमतौर पर मैं सैर के लिये ऐसे कपड़े नहीं पहनता।

when I go for a walk.

So I think I need to get changed,

मुझे लगता है कि मुझे कपड़े बदलने होंगे (to get changed या to change clothes)।

or I need to change my clothes.

Those are two ways to say that you need

ये ऐसा कहने के दो तरीके हैं कि आपको दूसरे कपड़े पहनने हैं।

to put on different clothes.

So I think I need to get changed.

तो मुझे लगता है कि मुझे कपड़े बदलने होंगे।

Let's do this really quickly. (snaps fingers)

There, that's better.

ये रहे, ये ज़्यादा अच्छे हैं।

Now I'm ready to go for a walk.

अब मैं सैर पर जाने के लिये तैयार हूँ।

You might think walking for exercise sounds easy,

आपको लग रहा होगा कि कसरत के लिये सैर करना आसान है

but it's harder than it looks.

लेकिन ये जितना लग रहा है उससे मुश्किल है।

I usually walk very briskly.

मैं आमतौर पर बहुत तेज़ चलता हूँ।

I walk very quickly, and I walk for about 45 minutes.

मैं बहुत जल्दी-जल्दी चलता हूँ और लगभग 45 मिनट तक चलता हूँ।

After my walk, I usually get changed again.

सैर के बाद, मैं फिर से कपड़े बदलता हूँ।

I usually put on clothes that are a little more comfortable,

something like jeans and a T-shirt.

The next thing I do in my day is I make dinner

अगला काम जो मैं अपने दिन में करता हूँ वो है रात का खाना (dinner या supper) बनाना।

or I make supper.

We have two words for the evening meal in English,

रात के खाने के लिये अंग्रेज़ी में दो शब्द हैं, "supper" और "dinner".

supper and dinner.

We also have two ways to say it.

इसे कहने के भी दो तरीके हैं।

I can say, I make dinner.

मैं कह सकता हूँ, "I make dinner"।

I can also say, I cook dinner.

मैं "I cook dinner" भी कह सकता हूँ।

Tonight's meal is actually going to be spaghetti

आज रात का खाना है मीट सॉस के साथ स्पैगेटी

with meat sauce, so I am going to fry some hamburger.

तो मैं थोड़ा हैमबर्गर फ़्राई करने जा रहा हूँ।

I'm going to then mix it with this tomato sauce

फिर मैं उसे इस टोमैटो सॉस और इन टमाटरों के साथ मिलाऊँगा।

and these tomatoes.

Then I'm going to cook that up.

फिर मैं उसे पकाऊँगा।

I'm also going to boil some noodles.

मैं कुछ नूडल्स भी उबालूँगा।

And so that the meal is healthy and has some vegetables,

ताकि खाना सेहतमंद हो और उसमें कुछ सब्ज़ियाँ हों,

we're going to have some cucumber,

उसके लिये हमारे पास कुछ ख़ीरे हैं

and I'm also going to boil some green beans.

Jen and I usually take turns cooking.

जैन और मैं बारी-बारी से पकाते हैं।

Sometimes Jen makes the evening meal

and sometimes I make the evening meal.

But, generally, we cook a lot of food

because there's a lot of people to feed.

So everything's cooking nicely.

In the back frying pan here, I've fried the hamburger,

I should be eating soon.

So after I cook supper, after I make supper, I eat supper.

रात का खाना बनाने के बाद मैं उसे खाता हूँ।

Whenever I eat supper, I try to make sure

जब भी मैं रात का खाना खाता हूँ,

that half of my plate is filled with vegetables

मैं कोशिश करता हूँ कि मेरी आधी प्लेट सब्ज़ियों से भरी हो

so that it is a healthy supper.

ताकि खाना सेहतमंद हो।

I do wanna apologize though.

as I should be.

After I eat, I will wash the dishes.

खाने के बाद मैं बर्तन धोऊँगा।

I will also dry the dishes.

मैं बर्तन सुखाऊँगा भी।

And in English, when we talk about washing dishes

अंग्रेज़ी में जब हम बर्तन धोने और सुखाने की बात करते हैं

and drying dishes, we actually sometimes say,

तब हम कभी-कभी कहते हैं, 'Do the dishes"।

"Do the dishes."

So if I'm washing and drying, I can also say,

तो अगर मैं बर्तन धोकर सुखा रहा हूँ, तब मैं "I do the dishes" भी कह सकता हूँ।

after I eat, I do the dishes.

As soon as the dishes are done,

जैसे ही बर्तन धुल जाते हैं,

I spend a little bit of time cleaning the house,

मैं थोड़ी देर घर की सफ़ाई करता हूँ ("to clean the house" या "to clean up the house" या "to tidy up the house")।

or cleaning up the house, or tidying up the house.

They all mean the same thing in English.

Because there are seven people that live here,

Jen, myself, and our five kids,

जैन, मैं और हमारे पाँच बच्चे,

the house gets messy pretty quickly,

but it also gets clean really quickly

because everyone has to help clean the house.

So, after supper, I will probably sit on the couch

for a little bit just to relax and unwind.

I might turn on the television and watch the news.

हो सकता है मैं टीवी खोलकर ख़बरें देखूँ।

I might just read a book for a little while,

हो सकता है मैं थोड़ी देर के लिये कोई किताब पढ़ूँ

or I might grab my laptop and just watch

या अपना लैपटॉप लेकर यूट्यूब या नैटफ़्लिक्स पर कुछ देखूँ।

a few YouTube videos or maybe something on Netflix.

As I'm sitting on the couch relaxing,

जब मैं सोफ़े पर बैठकर आराम कर रहा होता हूँ,

my kids usually go to bed one by one.

मेरे बच्चे एक-एक करके सोने जाने लगते हैं।

They're too old now for me to tuck them in.

मेरे सुलाने के लिये अब वो काफ़ी बड़े हो गए हैं।

And I don't put my kids to bed.

When you have really little kids,

जब बच्चे बहुत छोटे होते हैं

you usually put your kids to bed and you tuck them in.

तब आप उन्हें बिस्तर पर सुलाते हैं।

But my kids are old enough now that they can

लेकिन अब मेरे बच्चे इतने बड़े हो गए हैं कि वो ख़ुद जाकर सो सकते हैं।

put themselves to bed.

So usually one by one, they come and say goodnight,

तो एक-एक करके वो आकर गुड नाइट कहते हैं

and I say goodnight, and off they go to bed.

और मैं भी गुड नाइट कहता हूँ और वो सोने के लिये चले जाते हैं।

At about 10:00 p.m., it's time for me to get ready for bed.

तकरीबन रात 10:00 बजे मेरे सोने का वक़्त हो जाता है।

I do a few things to get ready for bed.

सोने से पहले मैं कुछ काम करता हूँ।

I usually brush my teeth.

मैं दाँत ब्रश करता हूँ।

I use the bathroom.

बाथरूम जाता हूँ।

You're still not invited in, by the way.

आप अभी भी मेरे साथ नहीं आ सकते।

And then I put on my pajamas, and I get into bed.

और फिर मैं पैजामा पहनकर पलंग पर लेट जाता हूँ।

So one of the last things I do in my daily routine

मेरे रोज़ के कामों में आख़िरी कामों में से एक है पलंग पर लेटना।

is I get into bed.

After I get into bed, there's just two things left to do.

पलंग पर लेटने के बाद करने के लिये सिर्फ़ दो काम बचे हैं।

I need to set my alarm clock so that I don't

मुझे अपनी अलार्म घड़ी सैट करनी है ताकि

मैं कल सोता न रहूँ क्योंकि मुझे ये रोज़ के काम फिर से करने होंगे।

sleep in tomorrow because I need to do this daily routine

all over again.

And the last thing I do in my daily routine

और आख़िरी काम जो मैं अपने रोज़ के कामों में करता हूँ वो है सोना।

is I go to sleep.

Well, hey, that was the second half of a typical day
