This is a mistake that a lot of my English Learner students make you tend to use

Nice to meet you too much. You see this common phrase is actually only

only ever used in one very

situation the very first time that you meet someone

You say nice to meet you or you could say good to meet you

Pleasure to meet you. There are a few variations

now there is nothing wrong with saying nice to meet you if and only

if it is the very first time that you are meeting someone in

Person you could also say nice to meet you if you're on the phone or if you're having an online video call

but the first time that you meet in person

You can also say nice to meet you in person. So I've noticed that many English learners

overuse this

Sentence and you don't want to overuse it because it's very unnatural and it can cause some confusion

It can make you a bit difficult to understand. So let's take a look at some of the most common ways that

English learners misuse this phrase and what you can say instead to correct your English

To speak more naturally more like a native speaker

Hey nice to meet you teacher, but you're in my class

Every day, what do you mean nice to meet me? I think we've met a few times already

Instead of saying nice to meet you to someone who you've already

Met for the first time. You should say it's nice to see you

You could say it's nice to see you again, or it's great to see you or it's wonderful to see you again

Because it also is related to dating. It sounds like you are asking someone on a date

So I would avoid using this phrasal verb if you don't have romantic intentions

let's make plans is a pretty good one and it sounds professional even more professional and better for a work situation is

You could also say let's get together for coffee next week one other quick note here. You could also say let's see each other

Has a romantic

Connotation to see someone or to be seeing someone also means dating

So just be careful with these two options to be seeing someone or to go out with someone really

mean to be dating someone so instead of those two I would use let's make plans or
