accent sometimes they are so different

あまりの違いに、地方の方言は私たちネイティブでも理解できない時があるんですよ

even us natives find it hard to

understand so who are we meeting today

Liverpool that means she is a Scouser

英語ではリバプール出身の人をScouserと呼びます

リバプールの人はとてもフレンドリーで 親しみやすいですが

very friendly and down-to-earth but if

you find yourself in a conversation with

彼らとの会話の最中にすこし混乱することが あるかもしれません

a scouser you might find that you're a

little bit confused because they use

なぜなら彼らは標準イギリス英語では なかなか言わない単語を使うからです

some words that we don't normally use in

standard British English we're going to

go through some of the common ones with

ズボン(アメリカ英語ではPantsと言います)

機嫌が悪い

Have you got a cob on?

ベッキー:あなた今機嫌悪いの？ アナ:私が機嫌悪いかって？もちろん違うわ

am I in a bad mood no Bevvy drink or

飲み物(状況によるが基本的にアルコール飲料)

beverage a fancy a bevvy? Do I fancy a

ベッキー:飲みたい気分？ アナ:私が呑みのムードか？もちろん

so there's a small selection of some of

これらはリバプールでよく聞く単語の ほんの一部分です。

the words you would typically hear from

a scouser so let's now look at the

次は実際のアクセント・発音について 見ていきましょう

actual accent and some of the

differences in pronunciation between a

scouse accent and a standard British

標準イギリス英語とどのように異なるのでしょうか？

English accent the first thing we're

going to look at is the fricative t so

始めの発音は/t/の発音です

when a t's at the end of a word and sometimes when

言葉の終わりにくる/t/の音、ときに単語の途中にこの音がある時は

it's in the middle of a word

then rather than having a plosive sound

破裂音の/t/ではなく 摩擦音のような音になります(日本語の[つ]に近い)

a scouser might make it fricative which

means it vibrates like this so if I said

私のRIGHTの発音と レベッカの発音はこんな感じです

right a scouser would say right right

right right let's get going right let's

よし、じゃあ行きましょうか

go and don't don't don't don't

water water water water

I need a bottle of water I need a bottle

ペットボトルの水が欲しいな

of water

another typical feature of the Scouse

もう一つのリバプールアクセントならではの特徴は /k/の音です

accent is the K sound so in a word ends

単語がこの/k/で終わる時、リバプールアクセントでは締め付けるような音になります

with a k a scouser may constrict this sound

and make it a k kind of sound so for

いびきをかいてるみたいですね

example if i was to say back a scouser

たとえばbackという単語は

would say back back back i'm coming back

later

またあとで戻ってきます

I'm coming back later look-look-look look

look at him look at him

彼を見て

fake bake fake bake

日焼けサロン・人工の日焼け

a fake bake fake bake that looks like a

それは偽の日焼けっぽいね

fake bake

that looks like a fake bake. Sound like you've

猫が毛玉を吐き出そうとしてるみたいに聞こえるね

got a hairball. One of the differences

in vowels is the A vowel in standard

いくつかの母音も大きく異なります その一つが/ʌ/の音です

British English we have ... but in scouse

標準発音では/ʌ/ですが リバプールでは「オッ」という音を籠らせた音になります

you have ... so for example if i was to

例えばcome

say come come come come come here come

こっちに来て

up up up up come up here

上がってきてちょうだい

come up here come up here shut

shut shut shot

shut the door shut the door all right

ドアを閉めて

わかったわよ

keep your hair on another feature that

そんなに怒らないでよ

may sometimes change is the th in

次はTHの発音です

standard British English it's th but in

標準発音はこんな感じ

でもリバプールではDの音になります

scouse we have d for example

リバプールのアクセントにまつわるジョーク

great sometimes when a t has a vowel

tの音が母音の前後にある時 お年寄りはtの音をrに変えます

on either side some old-school scousers

may change the t for an r and a very

famous example of this is the lovely

とても有名な例として シラブラックという歌手がいます

Cilla Black if you don't know who she

彼女が誰か知らない方はググってみてください

is

google her check her out but she had a

catchphrase and the catchphrase was a

彼女のキャッチフレーズは

A lorra lorra laaughs, she's saying a lot of a lot

a lot of a lot of laughs と言っているんです

of laughs but she's changing that t

でも/t/の音が/r/になるので lorra lorra という風に聞こえます

from a lot to an r lorra lorra

laughs what if I was to say not a lot of

では、not a lot of laughs と言いたい時は？

laughs

norra lorra laughs, norra lorra laughs

norra lorra laughs

so funny

可笑しい

two more words that you may come across

あともう２単語だけカバーしましょう

regularly but are pronounced very

differently by true scousers are the

その言葉はsomething

words something something

very different and nothing

とても異なりますね

もう一つはnothing

nothing, nothing to worry about

アナ:心配することはないよ レベッカ:なんも起きてないよ

nothing going on, nothing going on? great
