What is it about the season of spring

that makes me want to dance and sing?

Is it the colour bursting out with Glee

or the first Buzz Buzz of the Bumblebee?

The daffodils waving their colours as they sway.

What a joy to be out on a springtime day.

The poets with their prose  all delight in the glow,

of a mild spring day as the buds start to show.

Wordsworth was pleased with his poem so mellow

with those meaningful lines  for the flowers so yellow.

The spring nights become  shorter and the days grow long.

The birds begin calling their mating song.

Spring is to me a time to give birth,

a time to replenish the air and the Earth,

so take in a deep breath  and I'm sure you'll agree,

that spring is a glorious season to see.

I don’t know why, but I always get  excited as spring arrives here in England.

It really is a wonderful time of year,

as nature wakes up after  the long winter months. Those horrible cold days.

The first of March signifies the beginning  of what we call meteorological spring.

That is to say we have left  those dull and dismal winter days

and now we are heading towards those bright  and sometimes pleasantly warm spring days.

Although spring mornings can still be quite cold,

it is not unusual for the temperature to drop  dramatically during the first few weeks of spring.

For example the temperature  here in England last night 

dropped below freezing, creating a harsh frost.

The good news of course is that the Sun is able to create more heat as it  slowly rises higher in the sky.

The cold spring mornings soon make way for pleasant and some might  say enjoyable afternoons.

There is no doubt that spring is a wonderful season.
