Meaning of IT TOOK FOREVER- A Really Short English Lesson with Subtitles

We like to exaggerate a lot in English.

When you exaggerate you describe something as being worse than it was or better than

And today we took the kids swimming and after we went swimming we went to a fast food restaurant

So in English we like to say things like, "It took forever.", to describe something

It wasn't really that long, but you will often hear exaggerations about time.

Sometimes people go to renew their drivers licence and they will describe it by saying,

Anyways, there's a couple versions of this.

"It took forever.", would be me talking in the past, something that already happened.

If I was to talk about tomorrow I would say, "Tomorrow I need to renew my licence and it's
