They look the same and sound the same – almost.

Let's go one more time but slower.

Okay, let's have a look at the sentence.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ ဝါကျကိုကြည့်ရအောင်။

‘My boss was content with the content.’

'ကျွန်ုပ်၏သူဌေးသည် အကြောင်းအရာကို ကျေနပ်နေပါသည်။'

What two words go in these two gaps?

ဒီကွက်လပ်နှစ်ခုမှာ ဘယ်စကားလုံးနှစ်လုံးက ပါလဲ။

Well the answer is, ‘My boss was content with the content.’

အဖြေကတော့ 'ကျွန်ုပ်ရဲ့ သူဌေးက အကြောင်းအရာကို ကျေနပ်ပါတယ်' တဲ့။

They look like the same word.

သူတို့ကြည့်ရတာ စကားလုံးတစ်လုံးတည်းပါပဲ။

I know.

ကျွန်တော်သိသည်။

Oh no but they're two different words.

ဟင့်အင်း ဒါပေမယ့် သူတို့နှစ်ယောက်က မတူညီတဲ့ စကားလုံးတွေပါ။

And let me tell you why.

Let's have a look at our two words: content and content

အကြောင်းအရာနဲ့ အကြောင်းအရာ စကားလုံးနှစ်လုံးကို တစ်ချက်ကြည့်လိုက်ရအောင်

They're spelled the same way,

စာလုံးပေါင်းက အတူတူပါပဲ၊

but the pronunciation,

ဒါပေမယ့် အသံထွက်

and the meaning is different. It's a heteronym.

နဲ့ အဓိပ္ပါယ်ကတော့ မတူပါဘူး။ ၎င်းသည် ဝေါဟာရအသုံးအနှုန်းတစ်ခုဖြစ်သည်။

Well it's where you have two words

တူညီသော

that are spelled the same way

စာလုံးနှစ်လုံးရှိသော်လည်း

but the pronunciations

အသံထွက်

and the meanings are different.

နှင့် အဓိပ္ပါယ်များမှာ ကွဲပြားပါသည်။

Let's look at our two words in more detail.

ကျွန်ုပ်တို့၏ စကားလုံးနှစ်လုံးကို ပိုမိုအသေးစိတ်ကြည့်ကြပါစို့။

Both the meaning and the pronunciation.

အဓိပ္ပါယ်ရော အသံထွက်ရော။

First is ‘content’.

ပထမအချက်က 'အကြောင်းအရာ'။

‘content’ is an adjective.

'အကြောင်းအရာ' သည် နာမဝိသေသနဖြစ်သည်။

It means to be happy or satisfied with something.

တစ်ခုခုကို ပျော်ရွှင်ခြင်း သို့မဟုတ် ကျေနပ်ခြင်းဟု ဆိုလိုသည်။

I have two sentences for you.

ငါ့မှာ မင်းအတွက် စာကြောင်းနှစ်ကြောင်းရှိတယ်။

“I'm content with my peaceful life.’

“ကျွန်မရဲ့ အေးချမ်းသာယာတဲ့ဘဝကို ကျေနပ်ပါတယ်။'

I'm happy with my peaceful life. I'm satisfied.

အေးချမ်းတဲ့ဘဝနဲ့ ပျော်တယ်။ ကျေနပ်ပါတယ်။

I don't need anything else.

တခြားဘာမှ မလိုပါဘူး။

Sentence number two.

ဝါကျနံပါတ်နှစ်။

‘She is content to stay home Friday night.’

'သူမ သောကြာညမှာ အိမ်မှာနေရတာ ကျေနပ်တယ်။'

She's okay with staying home Friday night.

သောကြာည အိမ်မှာ နေရတာ အဆင်ပြေတယ်။

She's happy with that.

အဲဒါကို သူမ ကျေနပ်ပါတယ်။

She doesn't need anything else.

သူမ တခြားဘာမှ မလိုပါဘူး။

'အကြောင်းအရာ'

‘content’ is a noun.

'အကြောင်းအရာ' သည် နာမ်ဖြစ်သည်။

It means information that is put on the internet or other medium.

အင်တာနက် သို့မဟုတ် အခြားသော ကြားခံများပေါ်တွင် တင်ထားသော အချက်အလက်များကို ဆိုလိုသည်။

I have two sentences for you.

ငါ့မှာ မင်းအတွက် စာကြောင်းနှစ်ကြောင်းရှိတယ်။

‘Youtubers always have to make new content.’

'Youtuber များသည် အမြဲတမ်း အကြောင်းအရာ အသစ်များ ဖန်တီးရန် လိုအပ်သည်။

Youtubers have to make new information to put on the internet.

Youtubers များသည် အင်တာနက်ပေါ်တွင် တင်ရန် အချက်အလက်အသစ်များ ပြုလုပ်ရမည်ဖြစ်ပါသည်။

And sentence number two.

နံပါတ်နှစ်ဝါကျ။

‘My video content uses English.’

'ကျွန်ုပ်၏ ဗီဒီယိုအကြောင်းအရာသည် အင်္ဂလိပ်ကို အသုံးပြုသည်။'

The videos that I make uses English.

ကျွန်တော်လုပ်ထားတဲ့ ဗီဒီယိုတွေက အင်္ဂလိပ်လိုသုံးတယ်။
