English Slang / Idioms: Pissed Off

And in this video, we're going  to talk about a slang word. 

このビデオでは 、スラングについて話します。

And that word is ‘pissed’ or ‘pissed off’. Now, before I start, I want to tell you that  

そして、その言葉は「腹を立てる」または「腹を立てる」です。 さて、始める前に、

‘pissed’ can actually have several meanings. But today, we're going to focus on one meaning. 

「腹が立つ」には実際にはいくつかの意味があることをお伝えしたいと思います。 しかし、今日は 1 つの意味に焦点を当てます。

And the meaning that I want  to focus on is ‘angry’. 

私 が注目したい意味は「怒り」です。

Okay, so ‘pissed’ or ‘pissed off’ can  mean very angry or maybe upset or annoyed. 

さて、「腹を立てた」または「腹を立てた」は 、非常に怒っているか、動揺したりイライラしたりすることを意味します。

Okay, so before I explain a little bit  more, let's look at these example sentences. 

では、もう少し説明する前に 、これらの例文を見てみましょう。

The first one is, “I'm pissed.” This just means “I'm angry” “I'm upset” 

一つ目は「私は怒っている」です。 これは単に「私は怒っている」「私は動揺している」という意味

So again, “I'm pissed.” The next sentence is very similar. 

です。 次の文もよく似ています。

“I'm pissed off.” “I'm pissed off.” 

"私は腹を立てています。" "私は腹を立てています。"

Again, these two sentences have the same meaning. They both mean ‘I'm very angry about something’  

繰り返しますが、これら 2 つの文は同じ意味です。 どちらも「私は何かについて非常に怒っている」または「誰かに非常に怒っている」という意味です

or ‘I'm very angry at somebody’. Please also notice that we have to  

。 また、過去形で pissed と言わなければならないことにも注意してください

say pissed in the past tense. We have to say it with -ed. 

。 -edでそれを言わなければなりません。

If you say I'm pissed without -ed,  it actually has a different meaning. 

-ed なしで腹が立ったと言うなら、 それは実際には別の意味を持っています。

So again, you must say “I'm pissed” or  “I'm pissed off” to show that you're angry. 

繰り返しになり ますが、怒っていることを示すには、「I'm pissed」または「I'm pissed off」と言う必要があります。

Okay, here's the last sentence. “I get pissed off when he lies to me.” 

さて、最後の文です。 「彼が私に嘘をつくと、私は腹を立てる。」

That means I get angry when he lies to me. Again, “I get pissed off when he lies to me.” 

つまり、彼が私に嘘をついたとき、私は腹を立てるということです。 繰り返しますが、「彼が私に嘘をつくと、私は腹を立てます。」

Let's make sure we also notice  the pronunciation “pissed off”. 

「腹を立てた」という発音にも注意してください。

‘pissed’ And let's look

at the example sentence one more time. “I get pissed off when he lies to me.”

And for all the women out there,  you understand what I mean, right? 

そこにいるすべての女性にとって、 私の言いたいことが理解できますよね？

When someone you care about or someone you love  lies to you, you get angry or pissed off, right? 

大切な人や愛する人に 嘘をつくと、怒ったり腹が立ったりしますよね？

So let's look at a few more  example sentences together.

“I was pissed off when the  other car cut in front of me.” 

“I was pissed off when the  other car cut in front of me.”

“Don't get pissed off. It was a mistake.” “Don't get pissed off. It was a mistake.”

“I'm pissed off that he didn't pay me back yet.” “I'm pissed off that he didn't pay me back yet.”

Okay, so we looked at a couple example sentences, and we learned the word ‘pissed’ or ‘pissed off’

so just remember it's a very common slang if you  use it in America or another english-speaking
