Love idioms - English vocabulary (Part 2)

Love continues, as we do 5 more love and relationships idioms!

Starting with this one :

We say "he is under the thumb".

Whatever she wants him to do, he'll do it.

This reaction, we'd definitely say he's under the thumb.

When you see a couple going :

When we see this kind of behaviour,

Again, everyone knows a couple like this :

January, they hate each other,

February, they live each other,

March, they wanna kill each other,

marzo vogliono uccidersi a vicenda

and April, they wanna have babies together.

e aprile vogliono avere figli insieme.

In this situation, we can say the relationship is :

In questa situazione, possiamo dire che la relazione è:

"On again, off again", or it's "on and off".

"accendi e spegni di nuovo", oppure è "accendi e spegni".

An example sentence could be :

Una frase di esempio potrebbe essere:

"All year, they have been on and off",

"Tutto l'anno, sono stati a fasi alterne",

or "they've been on and off for four months", for example.

oppure "sono stati a fasi alterne per quattro mesi", per esempio.
