right, let's get started with the spring related Idioms

now the first Idioms is "no spring chicken!"

and if you describe somebody as no spring chicken

e se descrivete qualcuno come " no spring chicken"

it means that they are no longer young

significa che non sono più giovani

it comes from when farmers could charge much higher prices

for chickens born in the spring

because, they were fresher and they hadn't had to

the full version of this is

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence

" The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence"

and it means, your neighbours grass

e significa, che l'erba del tuo vicino

always looks greener than your grass

appare sempre più verde della tua

so always, tend to envy what other people have

quindi si tende sempre ad invidiare ciò che hanno le altre persone

and you don't actually appreciate

e in realtà non apprezzate

how good what you have, really is

quello che di buono avete, lo è davvero

so, from your perspective it might look like they have

but, once you change to their side of the fence

now the next spring Idiom is lovely this one is

and this is a really lovely way of describing somebody

who is like the Sun they make things grow

they make you feel happy they're warm

ti fanno sentire felice, sono caldi

it's just a really nice way of describing

E' solo un modo molto carino di descrivere

a worm, friendly, happy, positive person

una persona cordiale, amichevole, felice e positiva

So, I would say that my mum is a ray of sunshine

Quindi, direi che mia mamma è un raggio di sole

she always makes me feel better

mi fa sempre sentire meglio

and people just enjoy being around her

e le persone semplicemente amano essere attorno a lei

now number 4 is "spring fever"

Ora la numero 4 :" spring fever"

and spring fever is that feeling of restlessness

e " spring fever" è quella sensazione di irrequietezza

just before summer when the weather is starting get nicer

flowers are coming out

you want to... you want to go outside

the final Idiom a really lovely one again is

"to be full of the joys of spring"

" to be full of the joys of spring"

spring is supposedly one of the most joyful months

la primavera è presumibilmente uno dei più gioiosi mesi

there are lambs, flowers... you know

ci sono gli agnelli, i fiori...sapete

you're it's a very quick and drastic shift

è veramente un veloce e drastico cambio

from very cold harsh weather to suddenly

dal freddissimo e rigido inverno a improvvisamente

everything sunny and green

tutto soleggiato e verde

So, if somebody is a very happy and enthusiastic person

Quindi se qualcuno è davvero una persona entusiasta e felice

you can describe them as being full of the joys of spring

potete descriverla come " being full of the joys of spring" ( essere piena delle gioie della primavera)

So, if somebody is constantly happy enthusiastic

Se qualcuno è costantemente felice ed entusiasta

positive, smiling, laughing

positiva, sorridente, allegra

then they are full of the joys of spring.

allora è piena delle gioie della primavera
