A very difficult case...

Luckily, I was clever enough for the challenge.

I was using an old detective's trick -

he didn't mind, he was dead -

I was hiding outside an open window and I was listening to the suspects.

did the mother of the bride use?

مادر عروس از کدام کلمه استفاده می کرد؟

She made a grammar mistake.

او یک اشتباه گرامری مرتکب شد.

She said 'you didn't stole'

او به جای «دزدی نکردی» گفت «

instead of 'you didn't steal'... Interesting.

تو دزدی نکردی»... جالب است.

>>Mother of the bride It was probably one of those dreadful men...

>>مادر عروس احتمالا یکی از آن مردهای مخوف بود...

>>Groom / Best man It wasn't me!!!

>>داماد / بهترین مرد من نبودم!!!

>>Groom Surely you know I didn't take the ring.

>>داماد حتما می دانید که من حلقه را نگرفتم.

You were standing right next to me.

درست کنارم ایستاده بودی

Didn't you see who took the ring?!

ندیدی کی حلقه رو گرفت؟!

>>Mother of the bride Young man, I didn't saw anything.

>>مادر عروس مرد جوان، چیزی ندیدم.

Now tell me, is it true that you owe the best man a

>>Inspector [Thinking] Not again! Normally, when you make a past simple negative in English, you

>>بازرس [تفکر] دوباره نه! به طور معمول، وقتی یک منفی گذشته ساده در انگلیسی می سازید،

start with the subject, such as I, you or we.

با موضوع شروع می کنید، مانند من، شما یا ما.

Then you use the word didn't and then you use the infinitive form of the verb.

سپس از کلمه does not استفاده می کنید و سپس از صورت مصدر فعل استفاده می کنید.

So instead of saying

بنابراین به جای

I didn't saw, you should say I didn't see. 

اینکه بگویید ندیدم، باید بگویید ندیدم.

This is very unusual behaviour...

این رفتار بسیار غیرعادی است...

And the mother of the bride's behaviour will become more unusual in the rest of this episode -

و رفتار مادر عروس در ادامه این قسمت غیرعادی تر می شود -

she will make three more mistakes with past simple negatives.

او سه اشتباه دیگر با منفی های ساده گذشته مرتکب می شود.

Which word will she get wrong next?

saw what happened. You were standing very close to me when you were putting that flower

>>Mother of the bride Best man, I can't hear you. You must speak more clearly next time.

>>مادر عروس بهترین مرد، صدایت را نمی شنوم. دفعه بعد باید واضح تر صحبت کنید.

Now, please tell us why you lent the groom £5,000!

Who noticed it? Nobody, it seems.

Not even the mother of the bride. She just started asking the best man why he lent the groom £5,000.

And again, nobody seemed to notice

the mistake, the only thing they noticed, was that I wasn't there with them...

این اشتباه نشده است، تنها چیزی که متوجه شدند این بود که من آنجا نبودم. آنها...

Inspector!! This really is very bad. We didn't brought him here just to disappear!

the past simple negative.

با منفی ساده گذشته.

But nobody seemed to notice.

They didn't look for the ring… And they didn't look for the glasses.

And they were still arguing.

Luckily, the window was already open and not too high,

so it was easy to...

Ooof... Argh... Jump up and...

[Sound of crash, bang, breaking glass as the Inspector enters room through window]

And why did they do it?

And where's the horse?

و اسب کجاست؟

I like the horse!

Why do they always get rid of the horse?

Yes, well, umm...
