This is a checkup for ‘this’, ‘that’, ‘these’, ‘those’,

possessive adjectives, and possessive pronouns.

Now here, I want you to focus on ‘this’, ‘that’, ‘these’, and ‘those’.

အခုဒီမှာ 'ဒီ'၊ 'အဲဒါ'၊ 'ဒီ' နဲ့ 'အဲဒါတွေ' ကို အာရုံစိုက်စေချင်တယ်။

Okay, so here’s the first example.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ ဒါ ပထမဆုံး ဥပမာပါ။

We have a dog.

ငါတို့မှာ ခွေးတစ်ကောင်ရှိတယ်။

One dog.

ခွေးတစ်ကောင်။

So we have to use ‘this’ or ‘that’.

ဒါကြောင့် 'ဒီ' သို့မဟုတ် 'အဲဒါ' ကို သုံးရမယ်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

If it’s close, I say, “This is a dog.”

နီးရင် "ဒါက ခွေးပဲ" လို့ပြောတာ။

If it’s far away, I say, “That is a dog.”

ဝေးတယ်ဆိုရင်တော့ "အဲဒါ ခွေးပဲ"

So, I’m going to write ‘this’.

ဒါနဲ့ 'ဒီ' ရေးမယ်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

The next one says, “…are balloons.”

နောက်တစ်ခုက “… မီးပုံးပျံတွေ” လို့ပြောတယ်။

“…are balloons.” With an ‘s’.

“…ပူဖောင်းတွေလား။” 's' ဖြင့်။

There’s more than one.

တစ်ခုထက်ပိုပါတယ်။

So can we use ‘this’ or ‘that’?

ဒါဆို 'ဒီ' ဒါမှမဟုတ် 'အဲဒါ' ကို သုံးလို့ရလား။

No.

မဟုတ်ဘူး၊

We have to use ‘these’ or ‘those’.

'thes' သို့မဟုတ် 'thors' ကို သုံးရမယ်။

So, if it’s close, I say “These are balloons.”

ဒီတော့ နီးရင် "ဒါတွေက ပူဖောင်းတွေပဲ" လို့ ပြောလိုက်တယ်။

If they are far, “Those are balloons.”

သူတို့ အဝေးမှာဆိုရင် "ဒါတွေက မီးပုံးပျံတွေပဲ"

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

So let’s write ‘those’.

ဒါဆို 'အဲဒါတွေ' ရေးကြည့်ရအောင်။

“Those are balloons.”

"ဒါတွေက မီးပုံးပျံတွေပဲ"

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

Now when we ask the question,

အခုမေးခွန်းမေးတဲ့အခါ

“Are these pens?”

“ဒီဘောပင်တွေလား”

we have more than one.

ကျွန်ုပ်တို့တွင် တစ်ခုထက်ပိုပါသည်။

“These pens.” With an ‘s’.

"ဒီဖောင်တိန်။" 's' ဖြင့်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

I can put two answers here.

ငါဒီမှာ အဖြေနှစ်ခုထည့်လို့ရတယ်။

“No, ___ aren’t.”

“မဟုတ်ဘူး ___ မဟုတ်ဘူး”

I can say “No, these aren’t.”

"မဟုတ်ဘူး၊ ဒါတွေမဟုတ်ဘူး" လို့ ပြောနိုင်ပါတယ်။

Or… I can say “No, they..." more than one "... they aren’t.”

ဒါမှမဟုတ်... "မဟုတ်ဘူး၊ သူတို့..." "... သူတို့မဟုတ်ဘူး" တစ်ခုထက်ပိုတယ်လို့ ပြောနိုင်ပါတယ်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

The next one. “These ____ eyes.”

နောက်တစ်ခု။ "ဒီမျက်လုံး ____"

We need a ‘be’ verb.

'be' ကြိယာလိုတယ်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

There’s more than one, right.

တစ်ခုထက်မက ရှိတယ်။

There are two eyes.

မျက်လုံးနှစ်လုံးရှိတယ်။

So, “These are eyes.”

ဒီတော့ "ဒါတွေက မျက်လုံးတွေ။"

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

And here “…is a nose.”

ပြီးတော့ “… နှာခေါင်း” တဲ့။

One.

တစ်မျိုး။

A nose.

နှာခေါင်းတစ်ခု။

And it’s close.

ပြီးတော့ နီးစပ်တယ်။

So, I have to say, “This is a nose.”

ဒါကြောင့် “ဒါက နှာခေါင်း” လို့ ပြောရပါမယ်။

Okay, let’s move on to the next part.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ နောက်အပိုင်းကို ဆက်ကြည့်ရအောင်။

We’re going to do some more checkup.

နောက်ထပ်စစ်ဆေးမှုတစ်ခုလုပ်တော့မယ်။

Now here, I want you to focus on possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns.

အခု ဒီမှာ၊ မင်းကို ပိုင်ဆိုင်တဲ့ နာမဝိသေသနနဲ့ အပိုင်နာမ်စားတွေကို အာရုံစိုက်စေချင်တယ်။

Let’s look at the first example.

ပထမဆုံး ဥပမာကို ကြည့်ရအောင်။

“These are my pen.”

"ဒါက ငါ့ဘောပင်။"

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

We have ‘these…are’.

ငါတို့မှာ 'ဒါတွေ...' ရှိတယ်။

This means we need more than one.

ဆိုလိုသည်မှာ တစ်ခုထက်ပို၍ လိုအပ်ပါသည်။

Right…

ဟုတ်တယ်…

More than one pen.

ဘောပင်တစ်ခုထက်ပိုတယ်။

So, we have to put ‘s’.

ဒီတော့ 's' ကို ထည့်ရမယ်။

“These are my pens.”

"ဒါက ငါ့ဘောပင်တွေပဲ"

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

Let’s look at these two together.

ဒီနှစ်ခုကို အတူတူကြည့်ရအောင်။

“Those aren’t her children.”

“ဒါတွေက သူ့သားသမီးတွေ မဟုတ်ဘူး”

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

So we can also say, “Those aren’t ____.”

ဒါကြောင့် “အဲဒါတွေက ____ မဟုတ်ဘူး” လို့လည်း ပြောနိုင်ပါတယ်။

What do we put?

ငါတို့ဘာထားလဲ။

“… her children.”

“…သူ့ကလေးတွေ”

We can always say, “Those aren’t hers.”

“အဲဒါတွေက သူမမဟုတ်ဘူး” လို့ အမြဲပြောနိုင်ပါတယ်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

We don’t need a noun here.

ဒီနေရာမှာ နာမ်မလိုအပ်ပါဘူး။

We do need a noun over here, though.

ဒါပေမယ့် ဒီနေရာမှာ နာမ်တစ်ခုလိုတယ်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

Then, “Is it yours?”

ထို့နောက် "ဒါ မင်းပိုင်လား"

“Is it yours?”

"ဒါ မင်းပိုင်လား?"

“Yes, it’s _____.”

"ဟုတ်တယ်၊ အဲဒါ _____"

There’s no noun.

နာမ်မရှိ။

We have to say…

“ငါ့” လို့ ပြောရမယ်

“mine”.

။

“Is it yours?”

"ဒါ မင်းပိုင်လား?"

“Yes, it’s mine.”

"ဟုတ်​တယ်​ ဒါ ငါ့အပိုင်​ပဲ။"

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

And the last two…

ပြီး​တော့ ​နောက်​ဆုံးနှစ်​​ယောက်​က...

” _____ these his shoes?”

"_____ ဒီသူ့ဖိနပ်​လား?"

We need a ‘be’ verb here.

ဒီနေရာမှာ 'be' ကြိယာလိုတယ်။

” _____ these his shoes?”

"_____ ဒါသူ့ဖိနပ်လား?"

We have ‘these’, and we have ‘shoes’ with an ‘s’.

ငါတို့မှာ 'ဒါတွေ' ရှိပြီး 's' နဲ့ 'ဖိနပ်' ရှိတယ်။

So we need the plural ‘be’ verb.

ထို့ကြောင့် ကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် အများကိန်း 'be' ကြိယာ လိုအပ်သည်။

“Are”. “Are these his shoes?”

“ဖြစ်ကြသည်”။ "ဒါက သူ့ဖိနပ်လား"

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

And the answer. “No, they…”

ပြီးတော့ အဖြေ။ “မဟုတ်ဘူး၊ သူတို့…”

Plural.

အများကိန်း။

“…are.”

“…လား။”

We have ‘no’. “No, they aren’t”

ငါတို့မှာ 'မရှိဘူး'။ “မဟုတ်ဘူး၊ သူတို့ မဟုတ်ဘူး”

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ။

“Are not, aren’t”.

“မဟုတ်ဘူး၊ မဟုတ်ဘူး”။

Okay.

Let’s move on to the next part.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

နောက်တစ်ပိုင်းကို ဆက်ကြည့်ရအောင်။

For this last part, we’re going to look at these sentences.

ဤနောက်ဆုံးအပိုင်းအတွက် ဤစာကြောင်းများကို ကြည့်ပါမည်။

But they’re all wrong.

ဒါပေမယ့် သူတို့အားလုံးမှားနေတယ်။

They all have mistakes.

သူတို့အားလုံးမှာ အမှားတွေရှိတယ်။

So you have to find the mistakes for me.

ဒါကြောင့် ငါ့အတွက် အမှားတွေကို မင်းရှာရမယ်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

So, the first one says, “That are chairs.”

ဒီတော့ ပထမတစ်ယောက်က “အဲဒါက ကုလားထိုင်ပဲ” လို့ပြောတယ်။

Hmmmm, we know that’s wrong.

ဟမ်၊ အဲဒါမှားမှန်း ငါတို့သိတယ်။

‘That’ is used for singular nouns.

'That' ကို အနည်းကိန်းနာမ်များအတွက် သုံးသည်။

One.

တစ်မျိုး။

But it says “are” and it says “chairs” with an ‘s’.

ဒါပေမယ့် “ရှိနေ” လို့ ပြောပြီး “ကုလားထိုင်” နဲ့ 's' လို့ ပြောပါတယ်။

So, we have to change this word.

အဲဒီတော့ ဒီစကားလုံးကို ပြောင်းရမယ်။

We can say, “These are chairs.”

“ဒါတွေက ကုလားထိုင်တွေ” လို့ပြောလို့ရပါတယ်။

or “Those are chairs.”

ဒါမှမဟုတ် "ဒါတွေက ကုလားထိုင်တွေပါ။"

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

“This book is my.”

"ဒီစာအုပ်က ငါ့ရဲ့"

Hmm.

ဟမ်။

We have the possessive pronoun ‘my’.

ကျွန်ုပ်တို့တွင် 'my' ဟူသော နာမ်စားရှိသည်။

But remember, you have to have a noun after,

ဒါပေမယ့် နောက်မှာ နာမ်ရှိရမယ်၊

but there’s no noun.

ဒါပေမယ့် နာမ်မရှိဘူးဆိုတာ သတိရပါ။

So, we can change this to the possessive adjective ‘mine’.

ထို့ကြောင့် ဤအရာကို ပိုင်ဆိုင်သော နာမဝိသေသန 'mine' သို့ ပြောင်းနိုင်သည်။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

You don’t need a noun if you say ‘mine’.

'mine' လို့ ပြောရင် နာမ်ဆိုတာ မလိုပါဘူး။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

“That is he house.”

“အဲဒါ သူအိမ်ပဲ။”

Hmm.

ဟမ်။

We want to show that this house belongs to this man or boy.

ဤအိမ်သည် ဤယောက်ျား သို့မဟုတ် ယောက်ျားကလေး ပိုင်ဆိုင်ကြောင်း ပြသလိုပါသည်။

“That is he house.”

“အဲဒါ သူအိမ်ပဲ။”

But this word ‘he’, does not show possession.

သို့သော် ဤ 'သူ' ဟူသော စကားလုံးသည် ပိုင်ဆိုင်မှုကို မပြပါ။

Okay.

ဟုတ်ပြီ

So, we say, “This is his house.”

ဒီတော့ ငါတို့က “ဒါက သူ့အိမ်ပဲ” တဲ့။

‘His’, then the noun ‘house’.

'အိမ်' ၊ ထို့နောက် 'အိမ်'။

Similarly, for the next one.

ဒီလိုပါပဲ နောက်တစ်ခု။

“She name is Jenny.”

"သူမနာမည်က Jenny"

We want to show that this name belongs to Jenny.

ဒီနာမည်ကို Jenny ပိုင်ကြောင်း ပြသချင်ပါတယ်။

So, we say…

ဒီတော့ ငါတို့က…

“her”.

“သူမ” လို့ပြောတာ။

“Her name is Jenny.”

"သူ့နာမည်က Jenny"

Okay, and the last one is also similar.

ကောင်းပြီ၊ နောက်ဆုံးတစ်ခုလည်း အလားတူပါပဲ။

“It’s ours house.”

"ဒါ ငါတို့အိမ်ပဲ"

Now, if we don’t have ‘house’, “It’s ours.”

အခု ငါတို့မှာ 'အိမ်' မရှိဘူးဆိုရင် "ဒါက ငါတို့ပိုင်တယ်။"

We can say that.

အဲဒါကို ပြောလို့ရတယ်။

But since we have a noun, …

ဒါပေမယ့် ငါတို့မှာ နာမ်တစ်ခုရှိလို့၊

we use the possessive pronoun,

ငါတို့ဟာ 'ငါတို့ရဲ့အိမ်' လို့

“It’s ‘our’ house.”

အပိုင်နာမ်စားကို သုံးပါတယ် ။

ဟုတ်ပြီ
