This is a checkup for ‘this’, ‘that’, ‘these’, ‘those’,

possessive adjectives, and possessive pronouns.

Now here, I want you to focus on ‘this’, ‘that’, ‘these’, and ‘those’.

Okay, so here’s the first example.

We have a dog.

So we have to use ‘this’ or ‘that’.

If it’s close, I say, “This is a dog.”

The next one says, “…are balloons.”

There’s more than one.

So can we use ‘this’ or ‘that’?

No.

We have to use ‘these’ or ‘those’.

So, if it’s close, I say “These are balloons.”

The next one. “These ____ eyes.”

We need a ‘be’ verb.

There’s more than one, right.

There are two eyes.

So, “These are eyes.”

And here “…is a nose.”

And it’s close.

So, I have to say, “This is a nose.”

Now here, I want you to focus on possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns.

So we can also say, “Those aren’t ____.”

What do we put?

“… her children.”

"… तिची मुले."

We can always say, “Those aren’t hers.”

We don’t need a noun here.

“Is it yours?”

“Yes, it’s _____.”

"होय, ते _____ आहे."

There’s no noun.

कोणतीही संज्ञा नाही.

We have to say…

आम्हाला म्हणायचे आहे...

“mine”.

"माझे"

“Is it yours?”

"हे तुझं आहे का?"

“Yes, it’s mine.”

"हो, ते माझे आहे."

Okay.

ठीक आहे.

And the last two…

आणि शेवटचे दोन...

” _____ these his shoes?”

” _____ हे त्याचे शूज?”

We need a ‘be’ verb here.

आपल्याला येथे 'be' क्रियापदाची आवश्यकता आहे.

” _____ these his shoes?”

"_____ हे त्याचे बूट?"

We have ‘these’, and we have ‘shoes’ with an ‘s’.

आमच्याकडे 'हे' आहेत आणि आमच्याकडे 's' असलेले 'शूज' आहेत.

So we need the plural ‘be’ verb.

For this last part, we’re going to look at these sentences.

But they’re all wrong.

They all have mistakes.

So you have to find the mistakes for me.

So, the first one says, “That are chairs.”

तर, पहिला म्हणतो, "त्या खुर्च्या आहेत."

Hmmmm, we know that’s wrong.

हम्म्म्म, आम्हाला माहित आहे की ते चुकीचे आहे.

‘That’ is used for singular nouns.

'ते' एकवचन संज्ञांसाठी वापरले जाते.

One.

एक.

But it says “are” and it says “chairs” with an ‘s’.

पण ते "आहे" आणि 's' सह "खुर्च्या" असे म्हणतात.

So, we have to change this word.

त्यामुळे हा शब्द बदलायला हवा.

We can say, “These are chairs.”

आपण म्हणू शकतो, "या खुर्च्या आहेत."

or “Those are chairs.”

किंवा “त्या खुर्च्या आहेत.”

Okay.

ठीक आहे.

“This book is my.”

"हे पुस्तक माझे आहे."

Hmm.

हम्म.

We have the possessive pronoun ‘my’.

आपल्याकडे 'माय' हे सर्वनाम आहे.

But remember, you have to have a noun after,

पण लक्षात ठेवा, तुम्हाला नंतर एक संज्ञा असणे आवश्यक आहे,

but there’s no noun.

परंतु कोणतीही संज्ञा नाही.

So, we can change this to the possessive adjective ‘mine’.

तर, आपण हे possessive adjective 'mine' मध्ये बदलू शकतो.

You don’t need a noun if you say ‘mine’.

जर तुम्ही 'माझे' म्हणाल तर तुम्हाला नावाची गरज नाही.

“That is he house.”

"ते त्याचे घर आहे."

Hmm.

हम्म.

We want to show that this house belongs to this man or boy.

हे घर या माणसाचे आहे की मुलाचे आहे हे दाखवायचे आहे.

“That is he house.”

"ते त्याचे घर आहे."

But this word ‘he’, does not show possession.

पण हा शब्द 'तो', ताबा दाखवत नाही.

Okay.

ठीक आहे.

So, we say, “This is his house.”

म्हणून, आम्ही म्हणतो, "हे त्याचे घर आहे."

‘His’, then the noun ‘house’.

'त्याचे', नंतर 'घर' हे संज्ञा.

Similarly, for the next one.

त्याचप्रमाणे, पुढील एकासाठी.

“She name is Jenny.”

"तिचे नाव जेनी आहे."

We want to show that this name belongs to Jenny.

हे नाव जेनीचे आहे हे आम्हाला दाखवायचे आहे.

So, we say…

“Her name is Jenny.”

Okay, and the last one is also similar.

Now, if we don’t have ‘house’, “It’s ours.”

we use the possessive pronoun,
