Let's do a checkup of the present simple tense.

現在単純時制のチェックをしましょう。

We'll take a look at the affirmative, negative, and question forms.

肯定形、否定形、疑問形について見ていきましょう 。

Let's start with the first checkup.

まずは最初のチェックから始めましょう。

In this checkup, I want you to focus on the ‘be’ verbs.

今回はbe動詞に注目していただきたいと思います 。

Remember ‘be’ verbs, in the present simple tense, can be ‘is’, ‘am’, or ‘are’.

「be」動詞は、現在単純 時制では「is」、「am」、「are」のいずれかになります。

Take a look at the first sentence.

最初の文を見てください。

It says, ‘She _ blank _ at school.’

「She _ blank _ at school」と書かれています。

The subject of this sentence is ‘she’.

この文の主語は「she」です。

What ‘be’ verb do we use for ‘she’?

「彼女」にはどの「be」動詞を使用しますか?

The correct answer is ‘is’.

正解は「です」です。

Now if you were thinking of the negative, the correct answer would be ‘she isn't’

否定的なことを考えていた場合、 正解は「彼女はそうではない」

or ‘she is not’.

または「彼女はそうではない」です。

That's correct as well.

それも正しい。

And if we want to use a contraction for ‘she is’, we can say ‘she's at school’

そして、「she is」の短縮形を使いたい場合は 、「she's at school」と言えます。

For the next one, it says, ‘They _ blank _ twenty years old.’

次の場合は、 「they _ blank _ two years old」

The subject of this sentence is ‘they’.

となります。この文の主語は「they」です。

What ‘be’ verb do we use for ‘they’?

「they」にはどの「be」動詞を使用しますか?

The correct answer is ‘are’.

正解は「ある」です。

For the negative, you can also use ‘aren't’ or ‘are not’.

否定の場合は、'aren't' または 'are not' も使用できます。

Also if you want to use the contraction for ‘they are’, you can say,

また、'they are' の短縮形を使いたい 場合は、'

‘They're 20 years old.’

they're 20 years old.' と言うことができます.

The next sentence says, ‘His father _ blank_ busy.’

次の文は ' His Father _ blank_ busy.' です.

The subject of this sentence is ‘his father’.

この文の主語は 'his Father' です. .

What subject pronoun do we use for ‘his father’?

「彼の父」にはどの主語代名詞を使用しますか?

The correct answer is ‘he’.

正解は「彼」です。

Remember for ‘he’, ‘she’, ‘it’, the ‘be’ verb is ‘is’.

「彼」、「彼女」、「それ」 、「be」動詞は「is」であることを忘れないでください。

For the negative, we can say ‘isn't’ or ‘is not’.

否定的な場合は、「ではない」または「ではない」と言うことができます。

And for a contraction, for ‘father’ and ‘is’, we can say, ‘His father's busy.’

This is the mistake.

The subject is ‘we’ and the ‘be’ verb is ‘are’.

Therefore, the correct answer is ‘we are not’,

or the contraction, ‘we aren't good friends.’

または短縮形である「私たちは良い友達ではありません」

The next sentence.

Can you find the mistake?

‘Are John a teacher?’

Think about the subject of this sentence.

この文の主題について考えてください。

The subject is ‘John’.

お題は「ジョン」です。

And ‘John’, the subject pronoun is ‘he’.

そして「ジョン」、主語の代名詞は「彼」です。

Therefore, we don't use ‘are’, we use ‘is’.

したがって、「are」は使用せず、「is」を使用します。

‘Is John a teacher?’

「ジョンは先生ですか？」

‘Is John a teacher?’

And finally, ‘It am a puppy.’

hmm This one is a big mistake.

The subject here is ‘it’.

What ‘be’ verb do we use for ‘it’?

The correct answer is ‘is’.

正解は「です」です。

So we don't say, ‘It am a puppy,’ we say, ‘It is a puppy.’

ですから、「子犬です」とは言いません 。「子犬です」と言い

For the next checkup, I want you to think of some other verbs in the present simple tense.

Take a look at the first sentence.

‘He __ blank __ …’, I want you to think of the verb, ‘like his dinner’.

「He __ blank __ …」 、「彼の夕食のように」という動詞について考えてほしい。

What do we do to the verb when the subject is ‘he’, ‘she’, or ‘it’?

主語 が「彼」、「彼女」、または「それ」の場合、動詞はどうしますか?

Remember we add an ‘s’.

「s」を追加することを忘れないでください。 '

‘He likes his dinner.’

He likes his dinner.

For the negative, you can also say, ‘He doesn't like his dinner.’

' 否定形の場合は、'He doesn't like his dinner.

The next sentence says, ‘My students __ blank __…’, I want you to think of ‘need’,

' 次の文は、'My students __ blank __…', I want to think of 'need', 「

‘…books’.

What is the subject pronoun for ‘my students’?

The correct answer is ‘they’.

If the subject is ‘I’, ‘you’, ‘we’, or ‘they’, in the present simple tense,

主語が「私」、「あなた」、「私たち」、 または「彼ら」である場合、現在単純時制で

we don't change the verb, we keep it as is.

は、動詞を変更せず、その ままにします。

So the correct answer is, ‘My students need books.’

正解は、「 私の生徒には本が必要です。」

Now for the negative, you can say, ‘My students don't need books.’

が否定形です。「 私の生徒には本は必要ありません。

The next sentence says, ‘I __ blank __…’, think of the verb,

」次の文は、「 I __ blank __…」です。動詞を考えてみてください。 「

‘…live in London.’

…ロンドンに住んでいます。」

What do we do here?

ここで何をしますか?

Again the subject is ‘I’, therefore we don't change the verb.

繰り返しますが、主語は「私」なので 、動詞は変更しません。

The correct answer is, ‘I live in London.’

正解は 「私はロンドンに住んでいます」

What's the negative?

です。マイナスは何ですか?

‘I don't live in London.’

「私はロンドンに住んでいません。

For the next part, I would like for you to try to find the mistake in the sentence.

」次の部分で は、文の間違いを見つけていただきたいと思います。

‘He doesn't likes math.’

「彼は数学が好きではありません。」

What's the error here?

ここの誤りは何ですか?

Well this is a negative.

うーんこれはマイナスです。

‘He doesn't…’, that's correct.

「彼は…」、その通りです。

However, we do not add an ‘s’ when we have ‘doesn't’ in front of ‘it’.

ただし、 「it」の前に「doesn't」がある場合は「s」を付けません。

‘Do he eat candy?’

「彼はキャンディーを食べますか?」

Here we have a question.

ここで質問があります。

The subject of the sentence is ‘he’.

文の主語は「彼」です。

For ‘he’, ‘she’, ‘it’, when we're making a sentence in the present simple tense,

「彼」、「彼女」、「それ」について 、現在単純時制で文を作成するときは、

we use ‘does’ not ‘do’.

「do」ではなく「dos」を使用します。

So the correct answer is, ‘Does he eat candy?’

正解は「 Does he eat candy?」

And finally, ‘Sam is play computer games.’

そして最後に「Sam is play computer games.」

There are two present simple verbs here and we can't have that,

ここには現在の動詞が 2 つありますが、 それは使えない

so the correct way to fix this sentence is to get rid of the ‘is’.

ので、この文を修正する正しい方法は 、 「である」を取り除きます。

So take that out and say, ‘Sam plays computer games.’

Add an ‘s’ because the subject is ‘Sam’ which is a ‘he’.

For this next practice, we're taking a look at routines.

Remember the present simple tense can be used to describe events that happen regularly.

Let's take a look at the first sentence,

最初の文

‘We _ blank _ the bus every day.’

「We _ blank _ the bus every day.」を見てみましょう。

And I want you to use the verb ‘take’.

動詞「take」を使ってもらいたいと思います。

Here we see the clue word ‘every day’ which shows that this is a routine.

ここに「毎日」という手がかり があり、これが日課であることを示しています。

The subject of the sentence is ‘we’.

文の主語は「私たち」です。

In the present simple tense,

現在の単純な時制で

remember if the subject is ‘I’, ‘you’, ‘we’, or ‘they’,

we do not change the verb.

Therefore the correct answer is, ‘We take the bus every day.’

In the second sentence it says, ‘He _ blank _ to school every morning.’

Again a routine.

The subject here is ‘he’.

What do we do if the subject is ‘he’, ‘she’, or ‘it’?

We add ‘s’ or ‘es’ to the verb.

動詞に「s」または「es」を追加します。

In this example, the verb is ‘go’, so we have to add ‘es’.

‘He goes to school every morning.’

In the next sentence, it says, ‘Lizzy not play (in parenthesis) tennis.’

Here I want you to think about the negative form.

Lizzy is a ‘she’.

リジーは「彼女」です。

The subject pronoun is ‘she’ so what do we do for the negative?

主語の代名詞は「彼女」 ですが、否定語はどうすればよいでしょうか?

We say ‘does not’ or the contraction ‘doesn't play tennis’.

私たちは「しません」または収縮は「テニスをしません」と言い ます。 動詞

We do not add an ‘s’ or ‘es’ to the end of the verb.

Instead we say ‘doesn't’ or ‘does not’.

Now I want you to find a mistake in the next sentence.

‘They watches TV at night.’

Can you figure out what's wrong with the sentence?

The subject is ‘they’.

主語は「彼ら」です。

Therefore, remember, we do not change the verb.

したがって、動詞を変更しないことを忘れないでください。

We say ‘watch’.

私たちは「見る」と言います。

‘They watch TV at night’.

In the next sentence, or question, it says, ‘Does he plays soccer every week?’

The subject of the sentence is ‘he’.

To make a sentence, putting ‘does’ at the beginning is okay,

文を作るには 、最初に「does」を

However, we don't put an ‘s’ at the end of ‘play’.

入れても構いませんが、「play」の最後に「s」は入れません。

Therefore, the correct answer is to simply say,

‘Does he play soccer every week?’

彼は毎週サッカーをしますか?」

And finally, ‘He always forget his book.’

と、最後に「彼はいつも本を忘れます」と言うだけです

In this case, the subject is ‘he’.

Remember, again, for he/she/it we add 's' or 'es' to the end of the verb.

繰り返しますが、he/she/it の場合は、動詞の末尾に「s」または「es」を追加します。

What's the verb in the sentence?

It's ‘forget’.

「忘れる」です。

Therefore we have to say, ‘He always forgets his book.’

It's ‘it’.

Remember in the present simple tense, for ‘he’, ‘she’, ‘it’, we add an ‘s’

現在の単純時制では、 「彼」、「彼女」、「それ」の場合

or ‘es’ to the verb.

、動詞に「s」または「es」を追加することを思い出してください。

The verb here is ‘leave’ so we simply add an ‘s’.

ここでの動詞は「leave」なので、単に 「s」を追加します。

The correct answer is, ‘The airplane leaves tonight.’

In the second sentence, it says, ‘Does the movie _blank_ soon?’

」です。2 番目の文では、 「映画はすぐに _blank_ になりますか?」

And we're using the verb ‘start’.

と言い、動詞「start」を使用しています。

What is the subject of this sentence?

この文の主語は何ですか？

It’s ‘movie’.

「映画」です。

And what subject pronoun do we use for movie?

そして、私たちはどの主題の代名詞を映画に使用しますか?

It’s ‘it’.

それは「それ」です。

So it's like saying, ‘Does it _ blank _ soon?’

つまり、「すぐに _ 空白 _ になりますか?」と言うようなものです。

Well this is a question, so we already have the correct word in the front - ‘does’.

これは質問なので 、前に正しい単語が既にあります。「します」です。

For he/she/it, when we're asking a question, we use ‘does’.

he/she/it に対して、質問をするときは 「does」を使います。

Now all we have to do is use the same verb in its base form,

so ‘Does the movie start soon?’

We do not add an ‘s’ or ‘es’ here.

Finally, it says, ‘Viki _ blank _ tomorrow.’

The subject of the sentence is ‘Vicki’.

文の主語は「Vicki」です。

‘Vicki’ is a girl so the subject pronoun is ‘she’.

「Vicki」は女の子なので、主語の代名詞は「she」です。

You'll remember now that for… in this case, we put ‘works’.

for… この場合、 「works」を付けたことを思い出してください。

w-o-r-k-s ‘works’.

w-o-r-k-s「作品」。

‘Vicki works tomorrow.’

「ヴィッキーは明日働きます。」

Now let's find the mistakes in the sentence below.

‘He do leave at 3:30 p.m.’

Actually there's only one mistake.

Can you find it?

We do not need the ‘do’ here.

We only use ‘do’ in a question or in the negative form.

But also the subject is ‘he’, so we would use ‘does’.

Either way we don't need this here.

Well now we have the verb ‘leave’ with the subject ‘he’.

Do you know what to do?

We simply change this to ‘leaves’.

Just like we did in the first sentence.

In the next sentence, ‘They don't start school today.’

We have a negative sentence.

‘They don't…’, that's correct.

‘…do not’ is correct.

「…しない」が正解です。

For subject pronoun ‘they’.

主語代名詞「彼ら」の場合。

However, in the negative form, we don't have to change the main verb at all.

ただし、否定形では 、主動詞をまったく変更する必要はありません。

Therefore, all we will do is say, ‘They don't start school today.’

したがって、 「彼らは今日から学校が始まりません」と言うだけです。

No ‘s’.

「s」はありません。

Finally, ‘Does we eat at noon?’
