Welcome to this English course on adverbs.

مرحبًا بكم في دورة اللغة الإنجليزية حول الأحوال.

And in this video we're gonna talk about adverbs.

وفي هذا الفيديو سنتحدث عن الأحوال.

Now the simplest definition of an adverb is that it's a word that describes or modifies a verb.

الآن أبسط تعريف للظرف هو أنه كلمة تصف الفعل أو تعدله.

Now actually adverbs can modify other parts of the sentence like other adverbs.

الآن يمكن للظروف في الواقع تعديل أجزاء أخرى من الجملة مثل الأحوال الأخرى.

But in this video, we will focus on verbs and four kinds of adverbs.

لكن في هذا الفيديو ، سنركز على الأفعال وأربعة أنواع من الأحوال.

Adverbs of time. Adverbs of place. Of Manner and Adverbs of Degree.

الاحوال من الزمن. الاحوال مكان. من طريقة وظروف الدرجة.

Usually they will answer the following questions about the verbs:

عادة يجيبون على الأسئلة التالية حول الأفعال:

When? Where? How? and To what extent?

متى؟ أين؟ كيف؟ وإلى أي مدى؟

Let's look at these sentences.

دعونا نلقي نظرة على هذه الجمل.

"The boy ran."

"ركض الصبي".

And then we have, "The boy ran excitedly."

ثم لدينا ، "ركض الصبي بحماس."

Now this example shows the power of adverbs.

الآن هذا المثال يوضح قوة الظروف.

In the second sentence you find out how the boy ran.

في الجملة الثانية تكتشف كيف ركض الصبي.

In the first sentence you don't have any information on how the boy ran.

في الجملة الأولى ليس لديك أي معلومات عن كيفية ركض الصبي.

So in the second sentence, we find out that the boy was very excited.

لذلك في الجملة الثانية ، اكتشفنا أن الصبي كان متحمسًا للغاية.

So it's very important to understand adverbs and understand how to use them

لذلك من المهم جدًا فهم الظروف وفهم كيفية استخدامها

because they will make you speak English a lot better.

So let's get started.

First let's talk about the position of an adverb.

أولاً ، دعنا نتحدث عن موضع الظرف.

So where do we put the adverb in the sentence?

فأين نضع الظرف في الجملة؟

Now that is a bit tricky because the adverb in an English sentence can be in different parts of the sentence.

هذا أمر صعب بعض الشيء لأن الظرف في الجملة الإنجليزية يمكن أن يكون في أجزاء مختلفة من الجملة.

Let's look at a few examples:

لنلقِ نظرة على بعض الأمثلة: لقد

She climbed the mountain slowly.

تسلقت الجبل ببطء.

Slowly she climbed the mountain.

تسلقت الجبل ببطء.

She slowly climbed the mountain.

صعدت الجبل ببطء.

Can you guess which word is the adverb?

هل يمكنك تخمين أي كلمة هي الظرف؟

The word 'slowly' is the adverb.

كلمة "ببطء" هي الظرف.

It describes how she climbed the mountain.

يصف كيف صعدت الجبل.

And as you can see, the adverb is in three different parts of the sentence but the meaning is exactly the same.

وكما ترى ، فإن الظرف موجود في ثلاثة أجزاء مختلفة من الجملة ولكن المعنى هو نفسه تمامًا.

So let's practice pronunciation.

لذلك دعونا نتدرب على النطق.

Repeat after me please.

رجاءا كرر من ورائي.

She climbed the mountain slowly.

صعدت الجبل ببطء.

Slowly she climbed the mountain.

تسلقت الجبل ببطء.

She slowly climbed the mountain.

صعدت الجبل ببطء.

Great guys. let's move on.

Let's now talk about how to make adverbs.

لنتحدث الآن عن كيفية عمل الظروف.

Now most adverbs, not all of them, but most of them end in -ly.

الآن معظم الأحوال ، ليست كلها ، لكن معظمها تنتهي داخليًا.

So it's actually very easy.

لذا فهو في الواقع سهل للغاية.

You take the adjective and you add 'ly' at the end.

تأخذ الصفة وتضيف "لي" في النهاية.

Let's look at a few examples.

لنلقِ نظرة على بعض الأمثلة.

If you have the adjective 'nice', and you add 'ly' to it, you make the adverb 'nicely'.

إذا كانت لديك صفة "لطيف" ، وقمت بإضافة "ly" إليها ، فإنك تجعل الحالة "جيدة".

So for example you could say,

لذلك على سبيل المثال يمكنك أن تقول ،

"He is a nice speaker" using the adjective 'nice'.

"إنه متحدث لطيف" باستخدام صفة "لطيف".

But you could also use the adverb 'nicely' and say,

لكن يمكنك أيضًا استخدام الظرف "بلطف" والقول ،

"He speaks nicely."

"إنه يتكلم بلطف."

A second example - If we take the adjective 'quick', and we add 'ly', we can make the adverb 'quickly'.

مثال ثانٍ - إذا أخذنا الصفة "سريع" ، وأضفنا "ly" ، فيمكننا جعل الظرف "سريعًا".

So we could say,

لذلك يمكننا القول ،

"He is a quick runner."

"إنه عداء سريع."

But we could also say,

لكن يمكننا أيضًا أن نقول ،

"He runs quickly."

"إنه يركض بسرعة".

Okay. Let's practice pronunciation.

تمام. دعونا نتدرب على النطق.

Repeat after me please.

رجاءا كرر من ورائي.

"He speaks nicely."

"يتكلم بلطف".

"He runs quickly."

"إنه يركض بسرعة".

Good job guys.

Not all adverbs end in 'ly'.

لا تنتهي كل الأحوال بـ "ly".

Some adjectives don't change form when they become adverbs.

بعض الصفات لا تتغير عندما تصبح ظروفا.

They're called flat adverbs.

يطلق عليهم الظروف المسطحة.

Typical flat adverbs would be 'early' or 'late' and a few others.

ستكون الظروف المسطحة النموذجية "مبكرة" أو "متأخرة" وبعضها الآخر.

And it's very important to know these flat adverbs.

ومن المهم جدًا معرفة هذه الظروف المسطحة.

Because a lot of my students try to add 'ly' to some adjectives

لأن الكثير من طلابي يحاولون إضافة كلمة "ly" إلى بعض الصفات

and unfortunately they make incorrect sentences.

ولسوء الحظ فهم يصنعون جملًا غير صحيحة.

So let's take a look at an example.

لذلك دعونا نلقي نظرة على مثال.

Okay. If I tell you

تمام. إذا قلت لك

"The car drove fastly"

"سارت السيارة بسرعة"

Do you think that makes sense?

هل تعتقد أن هذا منطقي؟ من

Now it does make sense to try to add 'ly' to the adjective 'fast',

المنطقي الآن محاولة إضافة كلمة "ly" إلى صفة "fast" ،

but unfortunately guys 'fastly' does not exist in English.

ولكن لسوء الحظ لا توجد كلمة "fastly" في اللغة الإنجليزية.

So the correct sentence is,

لذا فإن الجملة الصحيحة هي

"The car drove fast."

"سارت السيارة بسرعة".

Another example,

مثال آخر ،

"He arrived 'late' or 'lately' to class."

"لقد وصل متأخرًا أو متأخرًا".

What do you think's the correct answer?

ما رأيك هو الجواب الصحيح؟

Again, it makes sense to try to add 'ly' to the adjective 'late',

مرة أخرى ، من المنطقي محاولة إضافة "ly" إلى الصفة "late" ،

but 'lately' is not the adverb of the adjective 'late'.

لكن "مؤخرًا" ليس ظرفًا للصفة "متأخر".

The adverb is 'late'.

الظرف متأخر.

So the correct sentence is, "He arrived late to class."

لذا فإن الجملة الصحيحة هي "وصل متأخرا إلى الصف".

"The car drove fast."

"He arrived late to class."

Let's now take a look at a few sentences to practice finding and making adverbs that modify verbs.

دعنا الآن نلقي نظرة على بضع جمل للتدرب على إيجاد وصنع الظروف التي تعدل الأفعال.

Now remember, adverbs tell us so much about the verb.

تذكر الآن أن الأحوال تخبرنا كثيرًا عن الفعل.

Usually they tell us 'when' or 'where' or 'how' or 'to what degree'.

عادة يخبروننا "متى" أو "أين" أو " كيف" أو "إلى أي درجة".

So the first example we have is,

لذا فإن المثال الأول الذي لدينا هو ،

"He easily lifted the box."

"لقد رفع الصندوق بسهولة."

Can you spot the adverb in this sentence?

هل يمكنك اكتشاف الظرف في هذه الجملة؟

Of course the adverb is 'easily' - ending in 'ly'.

بالطبع فإن الظرف "بسهولة" - ينتهي بـ "ly".

Okay and it tells us how he lifted the box.

حسنًا ، ويخبرنا كيف رفع الصندوق.

It's an adverb of manner.

إنه ظرف من الأسلوب.

Now the second sentence,

الآن الجملة الثانية ،

and this is a bit more difficult,

وهذا أصعب قليلاً ،

"I will download the file tomorrow."

"سأقوم بتنزيل الملف غدًا."

Now where is the adverb?

الآن أين هو الظرف؟

Because there is no word ending in 'ly', so it's a bit more complicated.

لأنه لا توجد كلمة تنتهي بـ "ly" ، لذلك الأمر أكثر تعقيدًا بعض الشيء.

Well the adverb is 'tomorrow' and it tells you 'when'.

حسنًا ، الظرف هو "غدًا" ويخبرك "متى".

It's an adverb of time.

إنه ظرف من الزمن.

And these are sometimes a bit more difficult.

وهذه في بعض الأحيان تكون أصعب قليلاً.

Our third example now.

"I put it there."

Again no words ending in 'ly'.

The adverb is the word 'there'.

And it tells us 'where'.

It's an adverb of place.

And our last example,

ومثالنا الأخير ،

"You didn't study enough for the test."

"لم تدرس بشكل كافٍ للاختبار."

The adverb is the word 'enough'.

الظرف هو كلمة "كفى".

And it's an adverb of degree.

وهو ظرف درجة.

Okay. It tells us to what degree.

تمام. يخبرنا إلى أي درجة.

Again it's not a word ending in 'ly'.

مرة أخرى ، ليست كلمة تنتهي بـ "ly".
