They Were WRONG!...(They THOUGHT They Knew How to Say this Word)

It’s so simple, but most native speakers don’t  think about it at all, and most non-native

I taught her the pronunciation is ‘fr’ and he  said, “that’s wrong. I don’t say it that way.”

And then she noticed later, he did say it that  way. When we change or drop a sound like this,

it’s called a reduction, and American English is  full of them. When you use reductions in your own

Four, F-O-U-R, does not reduce. It’s a  word that will be clear in a sentence.
