English Conversation Practice | Seeing a Friend

Let's practice English conversation. I've just run  into somebody I know on the street.

英会話を練習しましょう。 通りで知り合いにばったり会ったところです。

Marcia, hey.  

マルシア、ねえ。

Oh my goodness. Hi, how are you?

あら。 こんにちは、元気ですか？

Doing pretty well. The kids are both in school this fall so we’ve entered a whole new world.

かなりうまくやっています。 この秋、子供たちは両方とも学校に通うので、まったく新しい世界に入りました。

Are they liking it?

彼らはそれを気に入っていますか？

Yeah, for the most part, and it gives me a lot more flexibility with things like work and errands.

ええ、ほとんどの場合、仕事や用事などの柔軟性が大幅に向上します。

Sounds like you're finding your new groove.

新しいグルーヴを見つけているようですね。

Finding your new groove means getting used to new routines.

新しい溝を見つけるということは、新しいルーティンに慣れることを意味します。

How about you?

君はどうでしょう？

Oh, same old same old.

ああ、同じ古い同じ古い。

This phrase means nothing is new. The routine hasn't changed.   

このフレーズは、何も新しいものがないことを意味します。 ルーチンは変更されていません。

But we did get a puppy this summer so that sort of spiced things up.

しかし、今年の夏に子犬を飼ったので、ちょっとスパイスが効きました。

If something spices things up it means, makes life a little bit more interesting.   

何かにスパイスが効くということは、人生が少し面白くなることを意味します。

Oh I'm sure the kids are loving that.

ああ、確かに子供たちはそれを愛しています。 電話

Let me get your number and we can meet up for  a coffee. I'm on my way to an appointment right now.

番号を教えてください。コーヒーを飲みに行きましょう 。 今、予約に向かっています。

I am so glad we ran into each other.

出会えて本当によかったです。

By the way when you run into someone that means you saw them on the street, not that you actually ran into them.

ちなみに、誰かに出くわしたということは、実際に会ったということではなく、通りでその人を見たことを意味します。
