Spring IDIOMS and Sayings - English Vocabulary

It may be hard to believe that it's April,

because there's still snow on the ground

아직도 땅에 눈이 있고

and I'm wearing my winter coat.

겨울 코트를 입고 있기 때문에 4월이라는 것이 믿기지 않을 수도 있습니다.

But that's how spring usually comes to New England.

하지만 봄은 보통 뉴잉글랜드에 오는 방식입니다.

The first month of spring is March.

봄의 첫 달은 3월입니다.

And we say, "In like a lion, out like a lamb."

그리고 우리는 "사자처럼 안으로, 양처럼 밖으로"라고 말합니다.

So the weather in March can still be harsh.

그래서 3월의 날씨는 여전히 가혹할 수 있습니다.

We have snowstorms.

But by the end of the month, it does grow mild.

As the weather grows warmer, we usually get in a happy mood.

날씨가 따뜻해지면 우리는 대개 행복한 기분에 빠지게 됩니다.

So we have some expressions related to this change of mood.

그래서 우리는 이러한 기분의 변화와 관련된 몇 가지 표현을 가지고 있습니다.

The first is "a spring in one's step."

첫 번째는 "발걸음의 스프링"입니다.

If you have a spring in your step

발걸음에 용수철이 있거나

or if you walk with a spring in your step,

발걸음에 용수철이 있으면

you're walking with this happy feeling.

이 행복한 느낌으로 걷고 있는 것입니다.

You have a little excitement.

약간의 흥분이 있습니다.

It's positive energy.

긍정적인 에너지입니다.

He's walking with a spring in his step.

그는 발걸음에 스프링을 가지고 걷고 있습니다.

"Spring" as a verb is irregular.

동사로서의 "봄"은 불규칙합니다.

spring - sprang - sprung

spring - sprang - sprung

Those are the three forms.

세 가지 형태입니다.

And "spring" can mean to bounce, to jump.

그리고 "spring"은 튀다, 뛰다를 의미할 수 있습니다.

That's why we also have the expression "to spring into action."

그래서 "행동에 나서다"라는 표현도 있습니다.

If someone springs into action,

누군가 행동에 나서면

They're ready to move. They're ready to jump into action.

움직일 준비가 된 것입니다. 그들은 행동에 뛰어들 준비가 되어 있습니다.

A person or a group of people can spring into action

한 사람 또는 한 무리의 사람들이

to get something done.

어떤 일을 완수하기 위해 행동에 나설 수 있습니다.

Now as I said, as spring comes, it gets warmer

이제 말했듯이 봄이 오면 더 따뜻해지고

and we usually become happier.

우리는 보통 더 행복해집니다.

Some people have so much excitement,

어떤 사람들은 너무 흥분해서

we joke and say they have spring fever.

춘곤증이 있다고 농담을 합니다.

Children - especially in May when it's closer to summer vacation -
