La preposición AT

is probably one that you learned for place...location.

We learn: at home, at work, at school.

But the preposition AT

Pero la preposición AT

can also be used for direction.

también se puede usar para dirección.

- Direction of your actions or your efforts.

- Dirección de tus acciones o de tus esfuerzos.

Look at me. Look at the ceiling.

Mírame. Mira el techo.

Don't look at my hands.

No mires mis manos.

I asked my son to direct his attention

Le pedí a mi hijo que dirigiera su atención

toward me.

hacia mí.

I asked him not to look at my hands.

Le pedí que no mirara mis manos.

Why?

¿Por qué?

I was giving something to him.

Le estaba dando algo.

I gave something to him.

Le di algo.

So TO also expresses direction,

but there's this expectation
