The first time I laid eyes on Mitchy Dufresne,

I didn’t think highly of him.

He was a strange drink of water,

came across like a stiff  breeze would take him out.

A month would go by before Mitchy even gathered up

He then asked if I could come up with a way to get

Needless to say, I was happy to look into both.

No hace falta decir que estaba feliz de mirar a ambos.

Mitchy got along with the  warden and managed to fall into

Mitchy se llevaba bien con el alcaide y consiguió

a cushty job cleaning and  arranging the wardens office.

un cómodo trabajo limpiando y organizando la oficina del alcaide.

I couldn’t work out to this day  what that lady was singing about.

No pude entender hasta el día de hoy sobre qué estaba cantando esa dama.

Truth is, I don’t want to know.

La verdad es que no quiero saber.

Some things are better left unsaid.

I’d like to think they were singing  about something so beautiful,

I managed to see to Mitchy’s requests.

One rock hammer, I could not get  over how small that thing was.

And I did come across a 1969 “Easy Rider” poster.

I told him to watch out in case  the warden caught him with it

Mitchy never turned up that morning,  much to the wardens discontent.

That cell was cleaned up top  to bottom, it didn’t add up.

And the only thing left over; “Easy Rider”.

Y lo único que sobra; "Jinete facil".

The warden threw Mitchy’s game  and then instantly switched on

El alcaide lanzó el juego de Mitchy y luego encendió instantáneamente

as to what had happened.

What the warden figured  out is that Mitchy Dufresne

Lo que descubrió el alcaide es que Mitchy Dufresne se

had broken out of Shawshank  prison the night before.

Mitchy had crawled to freedom  through miles of s**t smelling

foulness I can’t even imagine,  or maybe I just don’t want to.
