Meaning of SLEEP THE DAY AWAY and TIME FLIES - A Short English Lesson with Subtitles

So young people sometimes go out late at night,

and then the next day, they sleep the day away.

In English, when we say that you sleep the day away,

영어로 you sleep the day away는

it literally means that you sleep for most of the day.

So like I said, sometimes young people go out late.

Sometimes they get in late, and then the next day,

Old people don't do this as much

So sometimes, when I am sick, I will take a sick day,

A few days ago, I actually wasn't feeling very well,

and so I just stayed home all day, and I had three naps.

Basically, I slept more that day than I did anything else,

so you could say that I slept the day away.

Notice I'm using the past tense.

In English, when we say that time flies,

영어로 시간이 빠르다고 하면

we mean that time goes really, really quickly,

시간이 정말, 정말 빨리 간다,

that time goes by really fast.

시간이 정말 빨리 간다는 뜻입니다.

So to review, when you sleep the day away,

그래서 복습하자면, 하루 종일 잠을 잔다는 것은

it literally means that you spend most of the day sleeping,

말 그대로 하루의 대부분을 잠으로 보내는 것을 의미

and when you say that time flies,

하고, 시간이 간다는 것은
