Hello I'm Emma from mmmEnglish! There are many times in an English conversation

مرحباً أنا أيما من م م م انغليش! الكثير من الأحيان عندما تتحدث الأنكليزية

when you need to say how often you do something. For example, if you were asked

تحتاج لقول كم مرة تفعل كذا. مثلاً, إذا سُئِلت

the question, "How often do you travel abroad?" "Do you often eat out at a

سؤال, "كم مرة تسافر خارج البلد؟" " هل غالباً ما تتناول الطعام في

restaurant?" "How often do you visit your mother?"

المطعم؟" " كم مرة تزور والدتك؟"

Adverbs of frequency help you to explain how many times you do an activity

ظرف الحال يساعدك في شرح كم مرة تقوم بعمل ما

or how often something happens.

أو كم مرة حدث شيئ ما

Adverbs give more information about the action in a sentence.

كما أنها تعطي معلومات أكثر عن الحدث

So, are you ready for some examples of these adverbs?

لذا, هل أنت مستعد لبعض هذه المفردات

Always - when the action happens all the time. Frequently, normally, usually, often, regularly

دائماً - عند حدوث شيئ بشكل مستمر, بشكل متكرر, عادةً, أحياناً,غالباً,بشكل منتظم

- when the action happens many times.

عند حدوث شيئ بشكل متكرر

Generally - when the action happens more often than not. Occasionally or sometimes

عامةً - عند القيام بعمل ما بشكل دوري. في المناسبات أو احياناً

- when the action happens less often, not that often.

عند حدوث شيئ ما ولكن أقل من المعتاد

Rarely, seldom, hardly ever, infrequently - that's when the action happens only a

نادراً - عند حدوث فعل ما مرات قليلة

few times. Or never, when the action doesn't happen at all.

أبداً - تستخدم عند عدم القيام بأمر ما نهائياً

Now, usually these adverbs are used in the present tense and adverbs can go in

عادةً ما يستعمل ظرف الحال مع زمن الحاضر و أيضاً يمكن أن تستعمل

a few different places in an English sentence but most commonly they go in

في مواقع مخلفة من الجمل في اللغة الانكليزية ولكن في معظم الأحيان

the middle of the sentence, between the subject and the verb.

تكون في منتصف الجملة, بين الفعل و المفعول به

"They often take their dog to the beach." "We sometimes pick up dinner on the way home."

"انهم غالباً ما يأخذون الكلب الى الشاطئ" "أحياناً نتناول العشاء في طريق عودتنا الى المنزل"

"I usually visit my grandparents on Thursdays." But you can also use them at

"غالباً ما أزور جدي و جدتي يوم الخميس" و لكن يمكن استخدام الأحوال في

the beginning of your sentence or at the end. "They take their dogs to the beach often."

بداية الجملة أو آخرها. "يأخذون الكلب أحيانا الى الشاطئ"

"Sometimes we pick up dinner on the way home." And "Usually, I visit my

نتناول طعام العشاء احياناً في طريق العودة للمنزل" "عادة ما أزور

grandparents on Thursdays." But we never put the adverb after the verb.

جدي وجدتي يوم الخميس" ولكن من المستحيل استخدام الاحوال بعد الفعل مباشرة.

That just doesn't work! "We pick up dinner sometimes on the way home." Incorrect!

ببساطة لايمكن فعلها!!! "نأكل أحياناً عشائنا في طريق العودة للمنزل." غير صحيح

In addition to these adverbs, there are a number of other English expressions that can help

بالإضافة الى الاحول, يوجد عدد من التعابير الانكليزية التي تساعدك

you to say how often something happens. You can use this expression "once or

في قول كم مرة حدث شي ما. يمكنك استخدام هذه التعابير " مرة أو مرتين..."

twice a.." with another time expression like day or week or year.

مع تعابير زمنية أخرى مثل يوم, اسبوع أو سنة

You can say "once in a while" and these expressions are similar to the adverb 'infrequently'.

يمكنك استعال " مرة خلال.." كا أنها مشابهة لتعبير "نادراً"

Now you can also say "from time to time" or "every now and again" and these ones

يمكنك استخدام " من حين لآخر" أو "في كل مرة" وهذه

are similar to saying occasionally or sometimes. You can also say "most of the

time". This is similar to saying 'often'. Now all of these expressions are used at the

regular event. Using adverbs of frequency are especially helpful when you're
