I'm going to try and answer that question.

But first, I’m going to give you a little bit of background.

there’s one concept you must get, it’s this:

Here's the principle.

Here's the thing.

Successful organizations should think more like a good gambler.

على المنظمات الناجحة أن تفكر كالمقامر الذكيّ.

Because a good gambler has trained his brain

إذ درّب المقامر دماغه على مقاومة النزعة البشرية

to resist the human tendency

to assume that good outcomes always mean that someone acted brilliantly.

A good gambler treats success with the same skepticism

فالمقامر الذكيّ يواجه النجاح بذات الشكوك

as he treats failure.

And this is what successful organizations should do too,

if they want to stay relevant:

فلو أرادوا إثبات وجودهم،

ask themselves the questions of a gambler.

عليهم أن يطرحوا نفس أسئلة المقامر.

Why were we actually successful?

How do we separate luck from skill?

كيف نفرّق بين الحظ والمهارة؟

Is it possible that our league table sometimes lied too?
