One of them is wrong.

spelling mistake in English.

Among students, but also, among native speakers.

ในหมู่นักเรียนและ

It's a difference between 'it's' meaning 'it is'.

มันเป็นความแตกต่างระหว่าง 'มัน' ความหมาย 'มันเป็น'

And 'its' being the possessive adjective.

และ 'its' เป็นคำคุณศัพท์แสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ

Okay let's and take a few sentences  and I'm sure you'll get it.

เอาล่ะ เรามาลองประโยคกันสักสองสามประโยค

แล้วฉันแน่ใจว่าคุณจะเข้าใจมัน

So we have 'It's a sunny day'.

ดังนั้นเราจึงมี 'วันนี้เป็นวันที่สดใส'

In this case 'it's' is the verb 'to be'.

ในกรณีนี้ 'it's' คือคำกริยา 'to be'

So it means 'It is a sunny day'.

ดังนั้นจึงหมายความว่า 'เป็นวันที่สดใส'

If we take the second sentence:

หากเราใช้ประโยคที่สอง:

'The dog ate its food'.

'สุนัขกินอาหารของมัน'

This is not the verb 'to be'.

นี่ไม่ใช่คำกริยา 'to be'

It's the possessive adjectives  for an object or an animal.

เป็นคำคุณศัพท์แสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ

สำหรับวัตถุหรือสัตว์

So the food belongs to the dog. It is its food.

อาหารจึงเป็นของสุนัข

มันคืออาหารของมัน

Okay so these are two different cases

โอเค นี่คือสองกรณีที่แตกต่างกัน

but sometimes when we write, we confuse the two,

แต่บางครั้งเมื่อเราเขียน ทำให้

เราสับสนทั้งสองกรณี

and we will write the dog ate it's food with apostrophe s.

และเราจะเขียนว่า

dog ate it's food ด้วยเครื่องหมายอะพอสทรอฟี s

you know getting confused  between its possessive adjectives

คุณรู้ว่ากำลังสับสนระหว่างคำคุณศัพท์แสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ

and it's being the contraction  of the verb 'to be'.

กับคำย่อของคำกริยา 'to be'

This is a very common mistake.

นี่เป็นข้อผิดพลาดทั่วไปมาก

if we take for example the sentence:

ถ้าเรายกตัวอย่างประโยค:

'Its my pen'.

'Its my pen'

Now look at the sentence.

ทีนี้มาดูประโยคกัน

What do you think?

คุณคิดอย่างไร?

Is this right? Or is this the wrong spelling?

ใช่มั้ย?

หรือนี่สะกดผิด?

Well it's wrong.

มันผิดนะ.

'It's my pen' is the verb 'to be'.

'It's my pen' เป็นกริยา 'to be'

Now the best tip that I can give you

เคล็ดลับที่ดีที่สุดที่ฉันสามารถให้ได้

if you get confused, try and say it with the full form.

หากคุณสับสน

ให้ลองพูดแบบเต็มๆ ดู

Try and say 'It is'.

ลองพูดว่า 'เป็น'

If it makes sense, then it's the contraction of the verb 'to be'

ถ้ามันสมเหตุสมผล

ก็คือการย่อของคำกริยา 'to be'

and it should be apostrophe 's'.

และควรเป็นอะพอสทรอฟี 's'

If it doesn't make sense, then it's probably the possessive adjective.

หากไม่สมเหตุสมผล

ก็อาจเป็นคำคุณศัพท์แสดงความเป็นเจ้าของ

So for example, I can say, 'It is a sunny day'.

ตัวอย่างเช่น ฉันสามารถพูดว่า 'It is a sunny day'

That makes sense.

นั่นสมเหตุสมผลแล้ว

Can I say the dog ate it is food?

ฉันสามารถพูดได้หรือไม่ว่าสุนัขกินมันเป็นอาหาร?

No, I can't. that doesn't make any sense.

ไม่ ฉันทำไม่ได้ นั่นไม่สมเหตุสมผลเลย

Okay if I say, 'It's my pen',

โอเค ถ้าฉันพูดว่า 'มันเป็นปากกาของฉัน'

What do you think? Can I say 'It is my pen'?

คุณคิดอย่างไร? ฉันสามารถพูดว่า 'มันคือปากกาของฉัน' ได้ไหม?

I can.

So it's actually the  contraction of the verb 'to be'.

จริงๆ แล้วมันคือคำย่อของคำกริยา 'to be'

So it should be 'it' + apostrophe 's' + my pen.

ดังนั้นควรเป็น 'it' + เครื่องหมายอะพอสทรอฟี่ 's' + ปากกาของฉัน

And just so you know one last thing.

และเพียงเพื่อให้คุณรู้สิ่งสุดท้าย

Be careful because sometimes in some cases

โปรดใช้ความระมัดระวังเพราะบางครั้ง

'it's' can also be the contraction of  the verb 'to have' and not 'to be'.

'it's' อาจเป็นคำย่อของคำกริยา 'to have'

และไม่ใช่ 'to be' ก็ได้

If we take those two sentences:

ถ้าเราเข้าใจสองประโยคนี้

It's been great to meet you.

ยินดีที่ได้รู้จัก

It means - It has been great to meet you.

มันหมายถึง - ยินดีเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่ได้พบคุณ

'It's got four legs' means it has got four legs.

มีสี่ขา แปลว่า มีสี่ขา

Okay so the verb in those cases is 'to have' so be careful.

เอาล่ะ คำกริยาในกรณีเหล่านั้นคือ 'to have'

ดังนั้นควรระวังด้วย

Okay guys I hope you now understand the difference
