So last lesson, we looked at words to replace "But"

Such as:

All of them mean "But"

But some with a little difference

So you want to say:

Ah, for this, you can use the word: "Despite"

"Despite"?

Yes :)

But we need to use "despite",

with the sentence that SHOULD have,

but DIDN'T affect the other situation.

The grammar needs to change with this word.

First, the "SUBJECT pronoun":

Change it, to an "OBJECT pronoun".

Next, the VERB:

The form doesn't matter, "Past", "Present", "Perfect", whatever!

You can reduce it to only the "Gerund",

(the "VERB + ING" form)

The next sentence, nothing changes.

So it looks like this:

Yes! Well done!

Is that better, Mr. Aly?

Much better! See! Studying with me and Tom,

Well don't worry, erm...

See! So, she wants to say 2 things:

1: I love you

and 2: You don't have any money.

So, she can use "despite"

Remember the changes!

SUBJECT pronoun - OBJECT pronoun

VERB - 'Gerund' (ING) form

But this is a negative,

How do we make a 'negative gerund'?

With the word: "Not"

The 'despite' sentence can be first,

or second, but it must introduce the correct sentence.

The sentence which which DOESN'T, but SHOULD affect the other.

Oh, also, we can say: "In spite of"

It means exactly the same as 'despite'

and the grammar changes in the same way.

So, OH! it's her friend...

She wants to tell her friend about this situation...

Try to remember how to change the sentence...

We can also use "nevertheless"

It has more or less the same feeling,

but the GRAMMAR DOESN'T CHANGE!
