How English speakers really pronounce, "How are you doing?"

How are you doing?

어떻게 지내세요?

How are you doing?

어떻게 지내세요?

You'll hear this question quite regularly when native English speakers are greeting

영어 원어민들이 서로 인사할 때 이 질문을 자주 듣게 될 것입니다

each other.

.

It's a little more personal than, "Hi" or "Hello".

"안녕하세요"나 "안녕하세요"보다 조금 더 사적인 표현입니다 .

How are you doing?

어떻게 지내세요?

It's really a question that's meant to inquire about how the person's day is going, and how

그 사람의 하루가 어떻게 흘러가는지, 그리고

they feel about it.

그것에 대해 어떻게 느끼는지에 대해 묻기 위한 질문입니다.

Or, how they're feeling about themselves.

또는 그들이 자신에 대해 어떻게 느끼는지.

How are you doing?

어떻게 지내세요?

Now with all regular conversation questions, there's two faster versions of this.

이제 모든 일반 대화 질문과 함께 두 가지 더 빠른 버전이 있습니다.

The first fast version is to take "how" and "are" and contract them together.

첫 번째 빠른 버전은 "how"와 "are"를 취하여 함께 축약하는 것입니다.

So you end up with, "How're".

그래서 "안녕하세요"로 끝납니다.

And then the "you" kind of turns into "ya".

그리고 "you"는 "ya"로 바뀝니다.

And "doing" we kind of drop the "g".

그리고 "하는 것"에서 우리는 "g"를 떨어뜨립니다.

So you end up with a sentence that sounds like this, "How're ya doin?"

그래서 "How're ya doin?"과 같은 문장으로 끝납니다.

"How're ya doin?"

"잘 지냈어?"

"I'm doing great."

"잘하고 있어."

"How're ya doin?"

"잘 지냈어?"

"I'm having a great day."

"좋은 하루를 보내고 있어요."

"How're ya doin?"

"Not so good."

"별로 좋지 않아."

There's another version where we drop the verb out entirely and we just take the word,

동사를 완전히 삭제하고

"are" and we just don't use it.

"are"라는 단어만 취하고 사용하지 않는 또 다른 버전이 있습니다.

And you say, "How ya doin?"

"잘 지냈어?"

"How ya doin?"

"잘 지냈어?"

"I'm doing great"

"잘 지내고 있어"

"How ya doin?"

"잘 지냈어?"

"I'm doing fine"

"잘 지내고 있어"

So you may hear a conversation that goes like this:

그러면 다음과 같은 대화를 들을 수 있습니다.

"How ya doin?"

"잘 지냈어?"

"I'm doing pretty good, How're you doin?"

"나는 꽤 잘 지내고 있어, 어떻게 지내?"

"I'm doing pretty good too."

"나도 꽤 잘하고 있어."
