It’s been a while.

오랜만이야.

I haven’t made a video for almost three months, and there’s a reason for that.

거의 3개월 동안 영상을 안 만들었는데 그럴만한 이유가 있어요.

Way back in May, on May 31st of this past year, I had heart surgery.

지난 5월로 돌아가서 작년 5월 31일에 저는 심장 수술을 받았습니다.

I had an operation to fix a valve in my heart.

심장 판막을 고정하는 수술을 받았습니다.

And if you watch some of my videos from April, you’ll see that I’m sometimes a little

bit out of breath.

As I’m walking along and trying to talk, I’m having just a little bit of trouble

걸어가면서 말을 하려고 하는데 숨쉬기가 조금 힘들어요

breathing.

So I went to my doctor.

그래서 나는 의사에게 갔다.

In English we say, “I had a doctor’s appointment.”

영어로는 "I had a doctor's Appointment"라고 합니다.

So I made an appointment with my doctor and that led to a number of tests and they determined

그래서 의사와 약속을 잡았고 여러 가지 검사를 받았고 심장

that I needed to have a valve repaired inside of my heart.

판막을 수리해야 한다는 결론을 내렸습니다 .

So on May 31 my wife brought me to the hospital and she brought me into the hospital entrance.

그래서 5월 31일에 아내가 저를 병원으로 데려가서 병원입구로 데려갔습니다.

I had a scheduled operation.

예정된 수술을 받았습니다.

In English we say, “You have an operation.”

영어로는 “You have an operation”이라고 합니다.

You can also say that you have, “Surgery” So I was scheduled for a heart operation.

당신은 또한 당신이 "수술"을 가지고 있다고 말할 수 있습니다. 그래서 나는 심장 수술을 받기로 예정되어 있었습니다.

I was scheduled for heart surgery.

May 31 I went in and you can’t really see it, I’ll back up, but I have an incision

It was a minimally invasive procedure so they did not have to go in here, which I was very

I came home from the hospital I think it was June 5th.

병원에서 집으로 돌아오니 6월 5일이었던 것 같습니다.

And, honestly I have to say, the month of June is little bit of a blur.

그리고 솔직히 말해야 할 것은 6월이 약간 흐릿하다는 것입니다.

In English we say, when it’s hard to remember something, we say it was all a blur, or it

The month of June was a little bit of a blur.

I had planned to make a video, a video to help you learn English in June, but I didn’t

have the energy and I just didn’t feel well.

기력이 없었고 기분이 좋지 않았습니다.

In July I had what you would call a complication, in that my heart rate was not constant.

7월에 나는 내 심박수가 일정하지 않다는 점에서 소위 합병증을 겪었습니다.

My heartbeat would skip a beat.

내 심장 박동이 뛰지 않을 것입니다.

So it would go thump thump thump thump……..

그래서 쿵쿵쿵쿵........

My heart would beat, but every once in a while it would miss a beat.

내 심장은 뛰었지만 이따금씩 뛰기를 놓쳤습니다.

So July was a little bit of a slow down in terms of my recovery.

그래서 7월은 제 회복 측면에서 약간 둔화되었습니다 .

After you have a surgery, or after you have an operation you have what’s called your

recovery.

So my recovery time was a little longer than normal.

This past August 1st I started what’s called “Cardio Rehab”.

Cardio Rehab is when you go and work out.

They put me on a treadmill almost every day I walk about 45 minutes to an hour to get

my heart rate up and to help things get better.

So here we stand.

I feel a lot better.

I don’t feel 100%.

In English when you feel great you say I’m feeling 100%.

기분이 좋을 때 영어로 I'm feeling 100%라고 말합니다.

I don’t quite feel 100%.

100% 실감이 나지 않습니다.

I feel about 90%.

90%정도 체감합니다.

But I feel pretty good.

하지만 기분이 꽤 좋습니다.

I’m healthier.

나는 더 건강하다.

I have been eating healthier foods.

건강한 먹거리를 먹고 왔습니다.

And I just have been doing everything the doctors and nurses tell me to.

그리고 저는 의사와 간호사가 하라는 대로 다 해왔습니다.

Anyways, what does this mean for you?

어쨌든, 이것은 당신에게 무엇을 의미합니까?

It means that I’m back.

내가 돌아왔다는 뜻입니다.

I’m back to start making videos again.

다시 동영상을 만들기 시작했습니다.

I know this is my second big break.

I know I took a big break a year and a half ago because I had other heart problems.

But I think I’m good now.

I think I’m good to go.

I think I’ll try to make 1 video a week.
