Today we're going to talk about another diphthong, and this one is the 'oh'

OK, so 'əʊ' is a diphthong, and it is formed of 'ə' and 'ʊ'...əʊ

OK, dakle OU je dvoglasnik i formiram je od E i U

Ok, so 2 vowel sounds, 1 syllable

U redu, 2 samoglasnika i jedan slog

So your mouth shape with change throughout the duration of the syllable

So I often hear many of my Hispanic students saying 'no', 'go', 'close', 'clothes' 'hope'

This is WRONG!

So some words with the letter 'o' are bone, close, home thone

From 'Game of Thrones', I never wanna hear 'Geim of zrons' again

Or worse, 'geim of zrones'

Ili još gore "gejm of troniks"

I've heard someone same 'geim of zrones'

Čula sam nekoga govoreći "..."

So firstly we have the 'o', consonant and 'e'

Prvo, imamo suglasnike "O" i "E"

So we have bone, close

Tako da imamo

Then we have with just plain old 'o'

Onda imamo ravno "O"

So we've got both, almost, local, open, over

Tako da imamo oboje, skoro, lokalno preko

Then we've got words just ending in 'o': ago, go, no

Onda imamo riječi završavajući se na "O", "prije", "ne"

No is so (ooh there's another one) important

No! No sounds very babyish to us, that's what a baby would say 'no!'

Then we've got words with 'oa', so boat, goat, coat

Onda imamo riječi sa "OA", brod, koza, kaput

not co-at, or bo-at, boat, coat, throat,

Ne /koat/ ili /boat/ /troat/

toast (not to-ast) toast!

Words ending in 'oe', toe, the name Joe, foe

Riječi završavajući se na "OI", Ime Džou, Fou

Words ending in -ow like borrow, or follow, or grow!

Riječi završavajući se na "ow" kao, pozajmiti ili pratiti, rasti...

Then we've got words with -ou like although, or dough
