Now, when I mention idioms in my English classes

자, 내가 영어 수업에서 관용구를 언급할 때

the first one that anyone says is....

the first one that everyone says is

it's raining cats and dogs

it's raining cats and dogs입니다.

Now, I do like weather-related idioms

저는 날씨 관련 관용구를 좋아합니다.

I use them a lot

많이 사용

but this particular idiom

하지만 이 특정 관용구는

meaning it's raining a lot

비가 많이 내린다는 뜻입니다.

I just don't tend to use it!

저는 그냥 사용하지 않는 경향이 있어요!

So, I want to give you some idioms that are relevant

So, here are three cloud-related idioms!

So my first cloud-related idiom is

and this is my absolute favourite idiom

because it's so positive

It means that out of every unpleasant or difficult situation

an example of this would be

at least I can spend more time writing the book I wanted to write

Quite a funny alternative to my favourite idiom

every silver lining has a cloud

every silverlining has a cloud에 대한 재미있는 대안은

Which means that every positive situation

모든 긍정적인 상황에도

also has a negative one

부정적인 것이 있다는 뜻입니다.

but let's stick with the original

My next cloud idiom is to have your head in the clouds

If somebody has their head in the clouds

누군가가 구름 속에 머리가 있다면

it means they are out of touch with reality

그것은 그들이 현실과 동떨어져 있다는 것을 의미합니다 그들의

Their ideas are not logical, nor are they practical

아이디어는 논리적이지 않고 실용적이지 않습니다

An example of this would be

Lucy has her head in the clouds if she thinks

and if somebody is on cloud nine

on cloud nine

이고 누군가가 cloud nine에 있다면

it means they are elated or extremely happy

So when I finished my exams last week I was on cloud nine
