LET IT GO Learn English Through Song - Disney's FROZEN

so we finally made it guys this is

number 25 of 25 bitesize lessons which

I've been making especially for you

because it's Christmas I hope you found

it helpful and enjoyable in today's

lesson as it's a special day i thought i

would do a learn English through song

session so we're going to do 'let it go'

from the film frozen

ok so let's look through the lyrics

firstly we have the snow glows white on

the mountain tonight not a footprint to

be seen

so the snow glows white to glow is to

illuminate so like my hand looks like

it's glowing because of the light here

the snow glows white on the mountain

tonight not a footprint to be seen

a footprint is the mark you leave after

your foot has been there so if I'm

walking in snow the marks left by where

i stand are footprints

so there's not a footprint to be seen

the snow is clean

no footprints a kingdom of isolation to

be isolated is to be alone to be cut off

so this whole kingdom this whole town

place is isolated and she says and it

looks like I'm the queen the wind is

howling we use the word howling to

describe wind quite often because when

wind blows really hard in makes a

sound howls so the wind is howling like

the swirling storm inside swirling

means to turn around so the wind storm

is swirling like this swirling storm

inside she's talking metaphorically

about these feelings that she has these

feelings of frustration anger and

they're inside her building up getting

more and more angry and upset so the

wind is howling like this swirling storm

inside couldn't keep it in heaven knows

I tried so she had an outburst she's had

an emotional outburst because of this

building frustration we say heaven knows

and God knows quite a lot to give

emphasis to what we're saying

heaven knows I tried heaven knows I

did everything I could

God knows okay should we listen to that

bit with music so what you should always

try to do is sing all the words properly

it doesn't matter about pitch or how

good your voice is, this is about learning

the words and phrases so we have nice

and slow

kingdom of isolation and it looks like

queen the wind is howling like the swirling storm inside

couldn't keep it in heaven knows I tried

the next section she says don't let them in

don't let them see she's talking about

keeping herself private keeping herself

to herself not letting people know how

she feels not letting people know what

she's thinking

don't let them in don't let them see be

the good girl you always have to be do

what is expected of you be the good girl

you always have to be conceal concealed

means to hide so if i conceal my face

with my hair or if I conceal my face

with my hands i'm hiding conceal don't

feel don't let them know and then she

said well now they know because she was

trying to hide but she couldn't help her

emotional outbursts and now they know

and then we have the the chorus which you

should all know but just to be sure of the

words it sings let it go let it go can't

hold it back anymore let it go let it go

turn away and slam slam means to bang

the door so you slam the door you bang

the door

shut so she's going to turn away and

slam the door she's going to neglect

them walk away from them abandoned them

I don't care what they're going to say

they can say what they like

I don't care what they're going to say

let the storm rage on

she's talking about that storm inside

that she's now let go let it rage

she's very angry she needs to chill out

okay and then she sings, very end she sings

the cold doesn't bother me anyway she's

basically saying I'm strong I can go out

and live on my own I don't need you

the cold doesn't bother me anyway

whatever

ok so that section with music goes like

this nice and slow trying to say all the

words don't let them in don't let them

see be the good girl you always have to

be conceal don't feel don't let them

know

Good and that's as far i'm going to

go the rest of the song is up to you to

figure out

so let's do once from the very top

through to there being mindful to say

all the words and trying to say

them correctly so from the very top here we

go

of the original track and practice

singing along at the same speed

remember practice makes perfect so that
