The first extremely common mistake is I think + to

The verb THINK is always used with the prepositions ABOUT or OF

The next one My sister is married with a millionaire.

To be married is used with the preposition TO

The next mistake is a very strange one Thank you for wasting time on me

This is such a hilarious mistake because in my country people

I agree or I don’t agree or disagree

The next mistake is Look to

No, we never use TO after the verb Look We should say - Look at

The next mistake is The news were very good.

News is always used with IS or WAS because this noun is uncountable

The next one is Ma’am

La siguiente es señora.

I often see comments below my videos with Ma’am

Ma’am is a formal respectful way to call a woman in many cultures,

The phrase I feel myself literally means that you feel your body, your skin,

But in English you can’t use these phrases When we agree we say

The next mistake is a question that my students ask me

How is it called?

This is grammatically incorrect How is not appropriate

Esto es gramaticalmente incorrecto ¿Cómo no es apropiado?

What is it called?

¿Cómo se llama?

Why we can’t say How is it called?

¿Por qué no podemos decir cómo se llama?

Because WHAT is a question word when we’re asking about the OBJECT

Porque QUÉ es una palabra interrogativa cuando preguntamos sobre el OBJETO

And HOW is about the METHOD So When we wanna know the name of an object,

y CÓMO se trata del MÉTODO Entonces, cuando queremos saber el nombre de un objeto,

a thing or an action We ask What is it called?

The next one is Prices are growing

El siguiente es Los precios están creciendo

This one is a vocabulary mistake because to grow means to increase in size

Este es un error de vocabulario porque crecer significa aumentar en tamaño

or amount, or to become more developed

o cantidad, o desarrollarse más

Plants grow, grass grows, children grow but Prices can’t grow We say Prices are rising

Las plantas crecen, la hierba crece, los niños crecen pero Los precios no pueden crecer Decimos Los precios están subiendo

The next very common mistake is I didn’t buy nothing at the market

El siguiente error muy común es no compré nada en el mercado

We say I didn’t buy anything at the market Because we can’t use double negatives like

Decimos que no compré nada en el mercado Porque no podemos usar dobles negativas como

didn’t and nothing in one sentence The next one is

You hair are so beautiful!

Tu cabello es tan hermoso !

Hair is uncountable noun, there’s much hair and we can’t count them

And It doesn’t sound good.

We say You hair is so beautiful!

The next phrase English learners often make when they say to me

La siguiente frase que suelen hacer los estudiantes de inglés cuando me dicen

Please, explain me the rule We say explain it to me

Por favor, explícame la regla Decimos explícamelo

Or explain the rule to me We can’t say Explain ME , that’s incorrect

O explícame la regla No podemos decir Explícame, eso es incorrecto

The next mistake is It depends of the situation

El siguiente error es Depende de la situación

We cannot say depends of We should say Depend on

Nosotros no puede decir depende de Deberíamos decir Depende de

It’s a phrasal verb And is always used with the preposition ON

Es un verbo frasal Y siempre se usa con la preposición ON

The next one is I and my friend

El siguiente es yo y mi amigo

When you’re talking about you and someone else,

Cuando hablas de ti y de otra persona,

You should always put I at the end of the phrase

siempre debes poner yo al final del frase

My friend and I … sounds right

Mi amigo y yo... suena bien

The next one is I understand almost all what you say

I’ve heard this phrase many times And I know that in some languages it’s OK

to speak like this But in American English natives just say Everything

They do not say All I understand almost everything you’ve said
